Maybe it was the particular item I got delivered but it was not keeping time perfectly. It would slowly drift when tested at 100bpm against a digital metronome app. That and the price and the quality of the plastic (not great) made me return this item. Wanted to like it because of brand history but nope.

I recently started piano lessons as an older adult. My teacher recommended a metronome with an accent chime. Hers is awful and I keep asking her to turn off the chime because it makes me pull back and put my hands over my hears. I searched on-line for one with a chime that isn't too loud, and didn't take batteries which seems wasteful to me. I lucked out with this quality product. This metronome is well made. The chime is gentle yet easily heard and can be turned off as desired. Its case is plastic, but far more affordable than the fancy wooden ones. Recommended.
