I bought this metronome as Wittner is a well known brand.Though it's plastic made, but I didn't realize the bottom corners are so sharp. It can easily hurt people.The bell feature is a joke. Despite how many beats in a bar you choose, the bell sound can last 6 beats. Then it makes you hear dizzying bell sound all the time

it's a classy piece, certainly detail-oriented. German action. i can't do w/out the bell!! Just know that it isn't just the cover, but the body of the metronome is plastic as well. Decent look, and w/in my budget.

We have the electronic versions, and phone apps, but wanted one that would stay put on top of the piano and look like it belonged there, This fits the bill, does a great job, the bell is very useful and the lever on the side can be pulled out to sound at 2 to 6 beats. Rather loud, so will get attention, and be a good aid in learning to keep time and knowing when one is astray.

item much better than expected--item described was "wood finish, with plastic cover". what we received was made of solid wood, somewhat vintage in appearance, and it works fine so far as I know. Thanks very, very much!!
