This comes with two measuring tapes. One is the basic flexible measuring tape and the other retractable. I like that the retractable tape is fairly compact and easy to store in a drawer without it unraveling. It makes measuring areas on the body easy when you don't have anyone to help. I've found it most useful for measuring arms and wrists. I attach the end of the measuring tape to the holder, creating a hole, put my arm through it and then push the button to tighten it to get the measurement. Couldn't be easier. I think it is a good value for the money. As long as it's not mishandled, I believe this will last many years.

Very handy for taking body measurements for sewing! Many parts are hard to measure accurately with a loose tape, this makes it much easier to do by yourself. It’s useful for tracking body measurements for fitness purposes as well. It’s also good to have on hand for online shopping so you can order clothes using accurate measurements and get a good fit. The measurement is clearly displayed and easy to read. It is also easy to open and close it so you don’t have to step into the loop.

I love this measuring tape. It's always been hard to try to get as close as possible body measurements without the help of someone else. This usually meant I was stuck trying to guide someone else through how to properly make sure the tape is ligned up, then ending up with all sorts of descrepencies with the numbers.This makes things so much easier. I can measure myself on my own and have privacy. The measuring tape clicks into place and is released with an easy push of a button. I can fit this in my purse and take it wherever I need. So far the measures seem very spot on. I've had no issue getting a decent measurement of myself. This is going to make tracking changes so much easier.

So I'm a little perturbed that this measuring tape didn't come with any instructions. I had to play around with it a little bit to figure it out. That said, as soon as I figured it out, it was instant LOVE! The curved side contours my forehead, my arm, my hip, my leg, my torso, my foot, and I can wrap the tape around any circumference on my body and then lock the end of the tape into place. It has a spring-loaded fastening that springs outward to create a button to unlock it when I am ready. This keeps the tape level, so to say, so that you're not measuring at an angle. Then I just read the measurement along the red line in the window of the tape measure case. This really solves for having to take one's own measurements, which is usually a two person job. It makes taking one's own measurement easier, faster and more convenient. It also creates more precise overall measurements. This is a brilliant invention!

This does come with a standard tape as well. I sometimes have a hard time measuring things that aren't flat by myself so this is helpful. It is nice to not have to measure and remeasure. I don't know if everyone will find it useful but I definitely do. Its nice and clear and easy to read as well.

This product comes with two measuring tools. One is just a basic cloth measuring tape for sewing, and it works well. You can get the same thing by itself for a few dollars. The other tool has a plastic, spring loaded case with a clear measuring window in the middle. It works as advertised, but is a bit fiddly and awkward until you get the hang of it. I can accomplish the same thing with a standard $3 to $5 cloth tape measure, which I can also use more easily in many situations. So I’d only recommend this if you do an awful lot of body measuring.

Did not know such a product existed. I'm getting into sewing and find it a bit tricky to take body measurements sometimes. This little measuring tape gadget is great, just what I needed. It's got a curved side that conforms to your body, but also has the measurement markings on the case (2"), easily added to the amount of measuring tape already deployed. The tape end has a post on it that fits into a slot on the case to "lock" measurements in. The tape can be released with a spring-loaded button under the slot. The tape holds itself as you pull it out so it's not constantly retracting like a regular carpentry tape measure. A button on the case retracts the tape quickly and easily. The best part... there's a window on the outer side of the case that gives a precise reading of the total measurement; the amount of tape is automatically added to the difference in the case and comes up with the full length, a really fantastically useful feature. I never knew there was such a thing. This is a game changer. Super pleased.

What a clever little device. I’ve never found it so easy to measure myself! This item came with a spare messed tape, and both are printed clearly on both sides. The 2 sides are slightly offset so that the internal side fills a clear plastic window that matches the length of the top side being used to measure. The pin attached to the end easily pops in and releases with a spring-loaded button on the other side.The tape does try to wind in by 1/4 inch naturally, fyi, but the same measurements reflect in the window, so no big deal. Also, the printed measurements on the black plastic are slightly more compressed, I believe to compensate for the 1/4 inch flex in the line.Looking back, this tape is what measuring tapes always should have been - very easy to use and accurate.
