These shorts have proven incredibly useful for many outdoor activities, but they have unfortunately already started turning yellow at the front (pictured). Other than the sun fading, they are extremely comfy, thick & sturdy, well made, worth every penny, and I love all the pockets!!- The quality is apparent as soon as you touch these shorts. They are very thick, soft, well made & high-quality- Plenty of stretch in the waist and even some stretch throughout the shorts, relaxed fit- I love all the pockets & these have been my go-to shorts all summer. I can easily carry a lot of different items - cell phone, car keys, gardening tools, and even vegetables - with pockets to spare- These are very comfortable shorts & I love the length (hit an inch or 2 below my knee). I am not a fan of short shorts, so these are perfect for me- I normally wear smalls in everything (US 4-6), and - after reviewing the size chart - I went with the size 4. I wanted to make sure they were comfortable & not too tight for bending over, watering plants, working in the yard, etc, but I wish I would have gone with the size 2. These shorts fit well right after washing, but they quickly stretch out & fall down to my hips. For reference, I am 5'3", 125 lbs, 33" bust, 28" waist, 36" hips, short legs & longer torsoWhile I am happy with these shorts overall, I do have a couple of complaints:- They cannot be tumble dried (per the tag) and they wrinkle badly during washing. The thick material is pretty tough to steam, but I mainly wear them for yard work anyway, so not too big a deal and I just wear them wrinkled- The sun fading started after wearing the shorts for only about a week. The discoloration hasn't gotten any worse than what you see pictured, but it did happen very quickly- I'm not a huge fan of the ties at the bottom, and I never use them, so I just tied them in bows to hide them as best I could. The ties do occasionally brush against my leg & make me think there's a bug on me, so I'd prefer not to have them at all** The color is different in person than it looks in pictures ** My photos are the same way, so I understand how this happened, but I would have definitely picked the khaki shorts if I had known the green ones were such a bright green. I would not call this "army green" and I believe something like, "bright green" would be more accurateOverall, I am happy with these shorts, and I wish I could give 4.5 stars, but I would have chosen another color if I knew the green was such a bright green. I do really like them, the price is good, and they are great for working outside, so I will probably buy a pair of the khaki shorts in a size 2.

My wife does not like these "hiking" shorts. They are too heavy, the run large in size, and she finds them unattractive. She does use them for gardening, but she does wear them out in public, even when we go hiking.

These are a bit of a thick, heavy cotton, with a bit of a softer feel than what stiff new cotton can feel like, so they are decently durable without feeling rough to the skin. They do wrinkle readily in the wash, but as a more casual look I think this can be largely ignored. The hardware and ties are all decent quality. I am not sure that I will ever have a need for the ties at the hemline, and I imagine they are largely just decorative. I find them annoying because they tickle my skin, but I have seen less useful details on garments before. These may have softened in color a touch after the first wash but they were already a bit of a soft green. They otherwise seem color fast, so I have had no green socks come out with them. I do mainly use these around the house and for outdoors activities where I don't feel the need to go into my fully technical gear. A light walk or hike in them is fine, or around the fire pit. Very casual, but decently comfortable. I think they are a little too heavy for a longer hiking or backpacking excursion.

If you have a smaller waist & a bit of a booty, these aren't for you. They seem rugged & well made enough, but do not fit this curvier girl well. And there isn't any stretch. So, unfortunately, I'll be donating them.

These shorts are great, rugged material and fit as expected. Lots of pockets and the colors are attractive. I don't think these shorts will wear out for a long time! I recommend them!

These are cotton Bermuda-length shorts that come down to just above the knee. The army green is a perfect color and the material is a not too thin soft cotton. The pockets are many and deep enough and are all buttoned. The seams are sewn well, though internal seams are hemmed but not sewn down to the main fabric. We got these for my spouse and she likes them for the fit, color, and the softness of the fabric. She'll be wearing them over the summer for gardening and walks.
