It doesn’t come varnished, they are raw wood. You can varnish they with whatever color you want or leave it as it is., they are perfect for what I need it. Worked great for displaying my jewelry I’m selling . When not in use I use as a decoration.

Don’t be fooled. I got these today and after opening tried to move the the thumb on the left hand and it broke right off. Every point of articulation is very stiff and hard to move. It’s like the doll rods holding them in place are only slightly larger than a toothpick which can be seen via the picture.
