Charge up your cordless drill before this project...each of the 3 boxes requires about 25 screws each. Each box takes about 5 minutes to complete...mostly due to the juggling act you have to do to get the initial square together without dropping support rods out of their retaining holes. Once together, this is a solid little step. BTW, I did get instructions in my package, unlike another reviewer.As for finish, some of the comb joints edges were a little rough, but some application of beeswax polish made them look a bit better, without having to sand. All-in-all, these are decent little steps at a good price considering the wood and vast majority of good finishing. If I find premature issues during aging, I will certainly update the review to reflect it. As for now, considering price, I do recommend.

Extra step for a porch, bed, deck, sauna, or hot tub. Solid wood with a semi-gloss finish. The finish is a bit uneven but the step looks better than my pictures show (in real life, it looks more like the listing picture). The unevenness is not unattractive when outdoors and you see the whole step. It seems to be solid enough when you step on it.It's pine, which is a fairly soft wood, I don't know how well it will last. Oak, teak, or acacia are usually better for outdoor use, but we'll see (it's the only reason I took off a star, otherwise we're happy with the step).

Unfortunately this product is a dud because it does not include any printed assembly instructions, no assembly instructions available online except for a blurry, unclear super fast video, and the parts are like a complicated puzzle with many tiny bits. I do not recommend!

Nice wood, but poor instructions and part A does not match what is shown. Also no pre-drilled holes for the screws. Had to buy a bit for my drill to make them myself so the screws would go in. No way to assemble without having a power tool.

I bought this to make it easier for my grandma to make it into my house our first step is weirdly high. The height and everything was perfect. I literally stepped on it and it cracked. So flimsy This is a terrifying accident waiting to happen.

Plastic over time breaks down from sun and elements. Wanted a wider step and thought I'd give this a try. Fits nicely, sturdy & sure fitted. 5 hip surgeries in 6 months I needed a smaller tred distance to enter home.
