Solid and strong wood, not flimsy bamboo junk. These are to replace the black plastic spoons and spatulas that have a current health warning. They seem solid, smooth, with some kind of clear coating/oil that will disappear over time. Crude sanding approach, yet smooth. Hand made for sure. No smell. Just what we were looking for.

Beautiful wood, no fading or degrading after a month’s use. I ordered the 8” spoons and glad I did. They’re perfect for spooning out honey from jars without getting your fingers sticky. Did you know the healing enzymes in honey become ineffective when coming into contact with metal? Now with these spoons I know my herb teas will work.

These are beautiful salad utensils; however, there are two things which make it so I deducted one star. First, there is an unspecified coating on the teak. The product listing says, "Non stick," which could be about anything and also kind of negates all of the very healthful things which they say about teak wood, as the teak is underneath the non-disclosed coating. Second, 9" long turns out to be rather short for salad utensils if you are using what I would consider a normal size salad serving bowl. The bowl has a tendency to gobble up the utensils (they slide down into it) where one needs to fish them out. The second picture I posted shows a traditional length wooden spoon compared to this salad server set.If you were to disregard the top two concerns, these really are a beautiful set. The grain of the wood pops nicely and they are very comfortable to hold. They also work well with each other dishing/picking up greens to be served.
