Man, I really wanted to like this whistle. It's beautiful, and when it works, it's a pleasure to play... but unfortunately it just can't hit notes after playing it for more than 5 minutes, I'm guessing due to moisture build-up affecting the wood, or the mouthpiece clogging. Hitting low D and E becomes basically impossible.Will be returning.

Huge upgrade from the standard tin whistles. If you want a richer, less shrill tone, this really fits the bill. As easy to play as any other tin whistle.

I have quite a few tin whistles yet this is one of my favorites. I was amazed at how well the craftsmanship of this is. Everything is perfect about this whistle: the tone, the brass fittings, the bird logo, the wood. Everything is made with good taste. The sound is beautiful. It has a nice rounded mellow tone. It sounds just like a tin whistle but it doesn't have the screechiness/shrillness that you get with a lot of metal whistles. Also it's more in tune than any of my other whistles. The wood feels incredibly smooth. It's much lighter than I anticipated but that's what makes it a joy to play. It's so light yet it feels like such a high quality instrument. The makers of this whistle truly did an amazing job.
