I purchased this item through my local woodworking store. If I had purchased it at the suggested retail, it would not have been a good value.I bought this for my band saw that I had mounted casters directly onto the legs, that proved to be very unstable. This product definitely stabilizes the band saw as the casters are outboard, rather than underneath the legs. But the other reviews are accurate, the levers to engage the wheels are separate, which creates an momentarily unstable condition. I also feel the necessity to "un-weight" the saw by lifting the unit as I push the lever with my foot to create less friction and stabilize the saw as I do it.In the end, you get what you pay for and I didn't want to spend any more than I could afford.I believe that this is a good value if you don't want to spend a lot of money, your machine is not too heavy, and you are willing to accept that you got what you paid for.

JIM, I've had this mobile base for a few years for my band saw. The metal cam levers were made out of a soft grade medal. Both levers are bent to the point they hardly work. Good idea but poor material!!

Not recommended for long items like a 24 inch Jig saw, The aluminum cams are very difficult to put downward pressure to lift the base. It tips my saw too much and I do not think it is safe. Not a well made product, it may be OK for small items. Look at something better made than this.

I bought this on the recommendation of a manufacturer that does not provide mobile bases for their tools. My first issue is it does not scale to the maximum sizes listed. I've got it at 24x28 inches and that is as far as it can extend with enough connection between the longer side to safely screw together. The other issue is the way the caster lifts work is not well thought out. It's difficult to get the lifts in to position and you then need to exert great force as you fulcrum the weight up to bring the cast in line. And you have to do them separately, which then has your large, heavy tool off balance until you get the other up. This is tricky with a tall tool like a band saw, which is what I have on it. You will likely need to put a piece of 3/4 plywood in it to bolt your machine to, and this does add strength. Ultimately, I'm probably going to re-purpose it for something far less large and important and do what I should have done right off, which is to build one from plywood with quality casters and a single pedal lift.
