These rasps are perfect for the DIYer and someone who wants a set for the tool box. They are somewhat narrower than I expected, but they are sharp and the handle is well made and securely attached. I am not disappointed.

The quality has impressed;usedit on very hard rare and aged South African Mountain Olive wood. Other files clogged easy; these NOT! And the clean easy by compressed air virtually in total.I tried to, but could not find the same brand in medium and fine available on amazon.ca?

Worked great on the small projects I have done so far. Handles feel nice and comfortable.

These lil beauties work just fine and the price is right. I know there's far more expensive rasps out there, but unless your using them daily or your rich, these will do the job just as effectively. They arrived well before the projected delivery date which is always a welcome surprise. Enjoy, fellow saw dust eaters.

Well, just by looking at them, you can definitely tell they are from China. It LOOKS like cheap junk. The reason it looks like that? Because it is.. I certainly won't be buying any more of these. The finish is non-existent, the corners of the file near the handle jaggedly ground off with big burrs near the hand, on all 3 files. The handles are nice, and fairly comfortable. That's about all they've got going for them. The round rasp is missing 6 teeth, the half round missing 2, and the flat missing 1 all right out of the package. Going to be uploading some pictures to this review soon. Quite dissatisfied.

Not sure how to review such a simple thing as a rasp but these did the job. Nice handle, easy grip. While this kind of tool is as common as a hammer or saw in the US, these apparently don't exist in Taiwan. Darn things are probably made here and yet I had to order them from the states, not sure why that is. Anyway, they work great!

About 25 years ago I had purchased a simple set of files from Sears. They were basic files; triangular, half-round, rasp and flat. They had no handles, i.e., they were sold with a bare tang, and somewhere along the line I carved some crude wooden handles for them. The other day I was rooting around in my toolbox for some tool and ran across them. I thought to myself "Dang, these are pretty old, rusty, and the handles have fallen off...time for some decent files."I wanted a set that wasn't crazy expensive, had all of the basic shapes, and had some decent handles. I work with various metals and woods for my hobbies, so I needed a basic file set as well as a rasp file set. It would be nice if they all matched, too.I did a lot of research on Amazon, only to find that some file sets did not have all of the shapes, were exorbitantly expensive, had handles that came off in your hand (or didn't have handles to start with), or had generally poor reviews. I came across the Woodstock files and they seemed to fill the bill.I purchased both the Woodstock D3112 6-Piece File Set with Rubber Handles and the Woodstock D3113 3-Piece Wood Rasp Set with Rubber Handles at the same time. The files arrived two days after purchase. They were well-packed and packaged. I inspected all of the files; all appeared to be in perfect condition with no wear or tear, not any shipping damage. The standard file set includes Round, Square, Triangular, Flat, Half-Round, and Tapered files. The Rasp file set includes Round, Half-Round and Flat rasps. The rubber handles are very comfortable and feel good in the hand. You can get a nice grip and maintain very good control over the file. The balance of each file is good. Some folks have mentioned that the handles came off when they were used, but I have yet to experience that in the four months that I have used them on an every-other-day basis. The metal of the files appears to be cast steel and is of average to good quality; they should last a long time as long as you don't stand on them or use them as a pry bar. Each of the non-rasp files are double-cut to about bastard cut or second-cut depth. The rasp files have teeth that are cut fairly deep, and some appear to be haphazardly placed. Mind you that's not really a bad thing, as all you care about is that it quickly removes material in the area that you are filing. You can smooth out any imperfections with a finer file, then some gentle sanding.I use all of these files primarily for woodworking and so far they have performed their tasks quite well with no visible wear. They do not clog easily, and when they do a brass wire brush makes quick work of any clogs.All-in-all I am quite pleased with both sets of Woodstock files and would recommend them. Thanks Woodstock!

A nice and handy set of rasp files. I have used them a number of times and find that their cutting ability is greater than anticipated. The price was extremely reasonable. The handles are not wood but fit the hand nicely and appear to have the stamina to wear well. I have paid more for a single rasp than I did for this entire set. A good value and a hard to live without set of files.

Hi purchased this set for my son who wanted to make his own Christmas gifts. He is working on wooden utensils for his grand parents, and these are perfect for him. They do the trick on shaving off areas of wood, however I am not sure how long these are going to last. The steel does not seem that strong and I am not sure how long they will stay sharp.

The handles are comfortable and the rasps themselves work as they should. These are not fine tools, they will leave a very rough edge and are not as easy to control as a more expensive rasp. I was able to knock the corners off of and round 1x4s very quickly though. For fairly rough woodworking, these are great.

Inexpensive tools, but they work great if you want something this coarse. I used the half round one to shape a guitar neck (made out of hard wood) and it was very easy to do it with this. I pulled along the length instead of filing with it and it worked very good that way. It'd be even better if it had a handle at each end to grab onto (in my case). The half rounded side seems to dig in deeper, and the flat side helped to smooth it out a bit before I used a scraper and sandpaper to make it smooth. I would have preferred if the set came with some finer coarse-ness rasps too. I haven't had any use for the other shapes yet, but I'm sure most people can find places where they would want the flat or round ones.I haven't had any problems with them, they're still in great shape and they seem very strong/sturdy.
