Let me tell you, I was looking for some type of a small gun safe for my handgun that I can safely store on my nightstand close to my bed. This smart palm vein biometric gun safe blew my mind. First of all, the safe itself fits perfectly on my nightstand and is made out of a super durable aluminum. It looks great and feels really solid. You get 2 keys, a charging cable, screws, a cable lock and a pretty nice instruction manual. The set up for the digital code and palm reader was really easy to set up. Inside there is an interior light which is nice and that’s also where the on and off switch is located. The palm sensor is absolutely awesome. You just put your palm about 5 inches over the sensor and it just opens up, it even opens up if the room is pitch black. This gun safe can also be used in a car, basically anywhere, its super portable and with the cable lock you can secure the safe anywhere. I would say the safe is big enough for 2 handguns. There is a nice lcd screen on the front that tells you the battery file, temperature, and humidity in the room. The keypad is also backlit. I ‘m very happy with this unit and definitely recommend this smart portable gun safe, 2 thumbs up.

This is an interesting technology, and I'm impressed with a lot of things about it, but ultimately, unconvinced with the quality of the safe itself, particularly at this price point. For less than half the price, I feel like my smaller fingerprint safe is just twice the thickness, rigidity, and impenetrability of this, even though half its size. Some details:• Opening the safe: I love the palm functionality, but it's imperfect. 3/5 times it works well, and quickly. Other times it's finicky and I have to move my hand around, and try various angles / positions.• Various ways to open: I like how there are various methods to get into the safe as backups in case one doesn't work — the key, the palm, the code. Makes weapon retrievable in the event the primary owner becomes unavailable or incapacitated.• Closing the safe: This is really annoying. Pressing it closed from the sides of the lid or anywhere near the sides nearly NEVER works, and pressing from the middle nearly always triggers the palm sensor so the clasp won't close. I always have to try several times, every single effort is multiple tries and it's super annoying• Misalignment of lid when closed. When lid is closed, there's imperfect engagement. I can see the lid is lying flatter on one side than the other. The lid itself is very thin. It actually almost feels (correctly or not) that I could lever the whole lid open with my fingers by grabbing the edge that doesn't close flat all the way. While I'm sure that isn't true, I have no doubt even a lightweight tool could probably bend the lid back by getting decent purchase under it. I know this isn't meant to be Fort Knox but I feel like this flaw alone makes it almost dead-easy for a determined teen to make VERY short work of opening this safe without even really applying themselves. Just a...less safe safe?• Overall material sturdiness. In addition to the lid closure flaw which is minor but significant, this is a very lightweight construction. Again, compared to my MUCH less expensive and smaller safe I feel it would be almost too easy to crack into with the simplest of tools, and without even scratching your head about it.If I had teens or growing kids in the house, I would probably not feel completely comfortable using a safe like this unless I had some sort of redundant system (like it was also locked away somewhere), but I am a really cautious person when it comes to firearms and take NO chances when it comes to the less developed brain, impulse control, and deadly weapons. I like the technology here, but wish it were embedded in something I felt more confidence in overall.

This is great - initial setup was super easy, and including mounting time, the whole process took less than five minutes from unboxing to having a fully functional gun safe. The palm vein scanning works great - it recorded my palm on the first try. The initial setup is painless, thanks to the detailed instructions. The USB charging port and rechargeable battery are great touches, as is the illuminated display that shows a readout of remaining battery and tracks humidity. While I really like this product, my main concern is that, if someone has some time on their hands and knows how to use a drill, this safe feels too flimsy to deter them from gaining access. I want a solution that gives me quick access to my firearms in a pinch but prevents my child or other unauthorized users from gaining access, and unfortunately, I'm not confident that this safe would stand up to someone determined to break in. I would recommend using sturdier steel or a drill-resistant material, or maybe thicker aluminum in the next iteration of this safe - it would give me a lot more peace of mind. Otherwise, this is a fantastic safe, so if you live alone or have very small children, this will keep your gun nice and safe.
