This is a fairly convincing Motorola knockoff, maybe even from the original case tooling. However, I think the charging circuit board is sub-par. I plugged in two fairly depleted NiMH CP200 batteries and both boards overheated (i.e. wisps of smoke, burning smell). Taking the unit apart, the charging chip (unmarked) was hot, and the input regulator was burning the PCB. I think it's under-sized.The top case contacts are what breaks in the original units - so I used the new top case half with the original circuit board and bottom case (and heat staked the old LED light pipe to the new top) and tossed the rest. The old PCB and bottom cases are working great now.
