I recently received the WSDCAM Screw-Mounted Vibration Anti-Theft Alarm through the Vine program, and I've been putting it through its paces to see if it lives up to the hype. My initial impression is pretty positive, though I have a few reservations.The first thing I noticed was the build quality. It feels surprisingly robust and well-made, which is reassuring considering it's designed for outdoor use. The IP65 waterproof rating is a big plus for me, as I plan to use it to protect gear on my trailer. The fact that it’s screw-mounted is also good, as I prefer that over stick on adhesive.The installation was impressively easy. The provided T-plate and screws made attaching it to my toolbox a breeze – definitely a major selling point that no drilling was required! The four-step installation was simple enough even for someone like me who isn't particularly handy.The 7-level sensitivity adjustment is a fantastic feature. I appreciate the ability to fine-tune the alarm's responsiveness. I started with the lowest setting and gradually increased it until I found the sweet spot where it wouldn't trigger from a passing truck but would alert me to someone messing with my toolbox. The adjustable volume (96dB-113dB) is also a nice touch. 113dB is LOUD – exactly what I was hoping for! It’s definitely going to deter anyone messing with my stuff.The remote control is a convenient addition. The 130ft range seems accurate in my initial testing, and being able to arm, disarm, and trigger the search mode from a distance is helpful. Switching between the different ringtones is a bit of a novelty, but I appreciate the added customization.Battery life is always a concern with these types of devices, but the USB-C fast charging and the claimed long battery life of the 700mAh battery are promising. Charging it only takes two hours, which is good. Only time will tell if the battery life holds up in real-world conditions, especially in colder temperatures but so far so good!Overall:My initial impression of the WSDCAM Screw-Mounted Vibration Anti-Theft Alarm is positive. It seems well-built, easy to install, and offers a good level of customization. The sensitivity adjustments and the loud siren are key features for me. It's a great product for the price. This is my second time ordering one of these portable alarms. The first unit didn't include mounting tabs and screws. Besides that, they are exactly the same. I was worried about the alarms and remotes interfering with each other, but they don't. Each alarm is only controlled by its own remote. My main reason for choosing these is because the alarm portion is USB-C rechargeable. I've seen others that look similar but require a cr123 battery. I prefer the rechargeable units so I don't have to worry about replacing batteries. Speaking of batteries, the battery life is amazing. Like any device, make sure to fully charge it before the first use. After that the battery will last months. I've had my first alarm for about a year. I've charged it twice since I got it. It never died, and I didn't need to give it a second charge at the time but chose to, just to maintain the battery. These little alarms are great. It is compact and louder than I expected. This has multiple alarm sounds. You can easily pic the alarm you like by pressing the music note button. You can activate the alarm with the lock button and then disarm it with the unlock button. There is also a panic alarm. The red button is the panic alarm that could come in handy during an emergency. I use my first unit in my work bag. There are a lot of people at my job in the morning and I leave my bag unattended. Other people have had stuff missing and stolen from them. With the alarm, I'm able to hear it from the other room, and I know if anyone touches my bag. They don't even have to go into my bag. If someone just nudges it, the alarm gives a warning. If they move it again, it sounds when it's armed. It would be great to put on a laptop in public, a bicycle, a motorcycle, a scooter, a door, etc. I picked up this second unit to keep in the portable power station I built. The power station stays in my car. I have it installed inside the power station, so they can't just easily remove it. If someone really wants to steal it, they still can, but the loud siren will help deter them. Hopefully, it spooks a thief to put it back down. Also, my home security cameras are set up to sound my home alarm if it hears this alarm go off. This will scare off a thief even more and definitely bring it to my attention.
