The size gave me more ground clearance. You definitely wanna do some measuring, as these tires are about 2 inches tall off the wheel. They measure to about 27.5,which can be great or not so great depending on the frame. Either way helped me keep up with my friends much more modern Trek. Also gave me a much better look imo.

Great tires! Aggressive tread. Bike came with 2.1s and these are 2.3s. They fit, but it's tight. I have about 1/8" clearance on the rear frame. I'm happy though. I wanted fat tires.

Not what I thought these tires should handle over some serious lrg rocks and corning with loose gravel with leaves covering the trails not so great but im still playing with air pressure on these tires if there is a change I will update later?!

First off, buy this tire you won’t regret it. Running these as a front tire on my 26” MTB/occasional dirt jumper. Incredible traction in sharp turns, and braking. Only weak point I’ve found is riding on bigger gravel, and even then not bad. Absolutely recommend these for anyone looking for a cheaper but still high performance alternative to Mavis tires.

Ordered these to replace my last set of 2.3 tires. A set of continental vertical protection pro's. Comparitively they have a significant increase in overall diameter and width. I have them mounted on 1 inch rims and they are chonky. Not complaining as the weight difference is small and I ride technical single track mostly. First impression is they ride as advertised and needed to adjust my rim centering so the wouldn't rub the frame. Clearance is every tight compared to my last tire. The compound seems to stick well on steep downhill corners though I am not riding high speed like west shore stuff. Mostly loamy forest trails with rain washed corners consisting of crushed gravel of medium size. Overall impressed with the tire.

I have been using this tire for a couple of months and it has been a good tire plenty of grip and had a generally a good riding experience. I will buy a set again I have a vigilante on the front and trail boss on the rear .

Nice, big lugged grippy tires to upgrade my 90s MTB. There's still enough clearance for the inevitable mud or snow, but I wouldn't wanna try stuffing anything bigger in an old frame like this one (1997 VooDoo). These are really stable with higher pressure, and seem good in loose sand with a bit lower pressure. They're kinda like a budget version of the DHF/DHR Minions I run on the 29er. Keep them old timey bikes in your rotation with these modern skins!

Actually a great tire for the price. Forget that nonsense from the guy that says it’s a 27.5 tire. Well, the diameter is about 27” , it’s a big tire...That’s you are setting up a bike computer or display you need to measure the actual circumference because it varies a lot..Like my rear tire, 24.8” is close to 26”, just measured diameter. Which reminds me to input correct millimeter circumference. And for the person that doesn’t know any better, I can see where the confusion comes. Buy a 26” rim and measure it, it’s more like 22”....

I ordered the 26" tire for my full suspension mountain bike, and I run this on the front. My rear tire is a cheap one, and is pretty worn out, and will be replaced tomorrow after Amazon deliver my new WTB rear tire (nice upgrade from the old one). The good thing about having the bad rear tire was that the contrast in grip was huge. I regularly felt the rear end wash out while this front tire just stuck to whatever surface, going exactly where I pointed it. I put 48 miles on this tire on my first ride, and are very pleased with the purchase. Note - I haven't tried it in muddy conditions, so I don't know how it would fair in those conditions. It did grip really well in a rocky creek crossing. It is great on dry trails, and I am happy with my purchase. Time will tell how quickly it wears out, but that's up to how many miles you ride and how aggressive you ride. I recommend it for XC riding - single track trails with different types of terrain. It also works well on dirt roads and gravel trails. It also gripped well on a single black diamond downhill trail.
