This was a far better purchase than I originally anticipated. The unit itself is pretty well made and functions well for a dual swing gate.The weight capacity gives you a good amount of leeway if you built your gate like I did. Essentially it meant I could choose just about animal metal I wanted to use and ended up going with low carbon steel.The gate uses low power and I have it running on solar without issue. This has been such a back saver. We have 2 old farm gates on wheels which anytime we come in and out we have to get in and out of our vehicles and then push and pull these gates. This automatic solar gate opener has made me very happy. We are going to replace the old gates and get some new styles now and this opener is perfect for the set up. I have had no problems with it not charger sunlight or cloudy and the remote works from a nice distant so the gate is opening as I pull up. Instructions are pretty easy to follow and the adjustments. Great opener for a good price. The gate arms are very heavy duty.

The X-X HOUSE PKM-C05 Automatic Gate Opener Kit with Remote Control is an economical and quite adequate solution for my 14' Suihe bi-parting gate. At 150 lbs. per section, my gate is well under the rated capacity of 770 lbs. per section of this kit.In looking at the price of this kit, currently around $260, one has to wonder "Can this possibly be any good?". I mean, this is roughly 5% of the cost of "high-end" openers. How can that be?Here's what I think. First off, it's obvious that the Chinese can offer products at lower cost. That's a given. As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I've also learned that many (not all) offshore companies are making real efforts to produce quality products at rock-bottom prices in order to establish themselves in the World marketplace. I don't know if this product is as good as I think it is but, at least at this point, I'm impressed with it.Also, this system is using a different technology that the old "heavy motor/heavy gearbox/heavy swing-arm systems more typically used. This is more of an "electric actuator" system; much simpler and more compact, with all the moving parts in basically one assembly. As a hobbyist, I've become a fan of these actuators and their performance. This opener may (or may not) be a little slower, but I'm happy to wait a few seconds more for my gates to open to save a few thousand bucks.Then there are the controls. From all appearances the PC controller seems to be well made, with all the "bells and whistles" that I would want want. The plastic enclosure is good as well. There are three types of kits available- this one (120VAC), solar/battery only (24VDC), and combination (120VAC and 24VDC). To my (pleasant) surprise, they all use the same controller board, except that the 120VAC versions have a heavy 120/24VAC transformer in the enclosure with the PC board (the rectifier is on the board). There are separate input terminals for both voltages. What this means for me is that I can power this with a battery and solar panel at first, until I get around to running power 600' or so. You could also use a battery and charger only for backup power. Nice.The installation/instruction booklet is very well-written in concise English, and very complete. Basically, everything you need is in the kit. Just plug it in. Contact information is provided for assistance. I also assume that I'll be able to obtain parts in the future, but I'm actually considering buying another kit just to have a complete set of replacement parts on hand for (hopefully) years to come.It will be some time before I'll get my gate finished so I really can't comment on actual function, let alone longevity. But I did spend considerable time going over the manual and all the hardware and controls. At this point I'm quite pleased. Only time will really tell.

This automatic gate opener kit arrived in new condition and very well protected using various methods and materials. The instruction manual appears efficiently produced and well written. It's comprehensive it offers plenty of diagrams illustrating installation and use. The gate cylinders are heavy and solidly built. The wire insulation is a little bit questionable and doesn't have the typical markings on it. Overall, it works well and I'm happy with it.
