We kept the fat 45mm main tube from the previous version, but lost the weight by using 6061 cold-forged aluminum instead of steel. This body size allows for a larger piston, shim stack, and fluid volume compared to the stock shock. It will absolutely transform the rear end for adult riders of Honda XR100/CRF100/XR80 minibikes, with bolt-on and go simplicity!

Simple bolt on; I removed one side cover and Umi air filter - two mounting bolts - boom 💥I installed with manufacturers preload settings (I’m ~170# + riding gear) - perfect.I also installed BBR had front springs in forks with ‘very fresh’ seals & oil - first ride impressions: see review title!!!Best ride I’ve ever had on the little XR100R.RockFront Ranch (California Central Coast) is notorious for hard pack with rock and ruts; never have I been this free to just roll without fear of hitting moderate sized obstacles.It felt like the rear wheel spent a much higher % of the time hooked up; trails that were previously challenging were ridden with confidence & considerably more speed.I can not report on long term wear or degradation of performance, but I can offer that my day at RockFront with the Vonkat shock was simply the best outing on this little workhorse EVER. 👍🏾👍🏾

For people loving their XR100, and wanting an affordable, excellent, replacement shock, this one works. I'm 185lb, and the spring that comes with it is just right. I'm glad i got it.
