It lasts 7+ years and doesn't dry and get brittle, important for laptops! It is a little hard to smear, but this is the paste all the OEM's use. It's very close in performance to any of the best.

Don't listen to the forums that say that Kryonaut is any good. This stuff is what you're looking for. It has excellent reliability and incredible thermal conductivity versus other pastes on the market. And it IS the preferred solution used by all the big OEMs. Yes. Really. I work as a tech (but my opinions are my own FYI) and use many tubes of this stuff a month. Make sure that the compound is viscous and not hardened, obviously. The physical properties of this paste make it so that it never flows out under heat stress and is not prone to drying out/cracking under normal conditions in my experience. And, if you repaste your stuff that can be serviced by one of the big OEMs, using this stuff mayprevent your warranty from being invalidated. Since it's the same exact paste. If you dig around, some old reviews show this stuff to be better than GC Extreme, only a hair behind Kryonaut, which is a paste that dries out and tends to not fare very well in laptops.

I wanted to try X23 because I had issues with low-viscosity greases like MX-4, specifically for direct-die, low-pressure applications like GPU, laptop CPU, etc. Low-viscosity grease would work great initially, but after a short time they "pump out" resulting in rising temperatures and noisy cooling fans. X23 has solved those problems for me.Because X23 is a fairly high-viscosity grease, it stays where it's applied and has not shown the degradation that I experienced with other products. On the flip side, the viscosity does make application of X23 challenging. The included spreader card helps (be sure to peel off the white plastic film), although there still is a tendency for the grease to stick more to the card than to the chip I'm working on. It takes a lot more time and effort, but I am eventually able to apply a thin layer across the chip using light pressure to spread the grease.Overall, I'm satisfied with X23's thermal performance, and I have peace of mind in knowing that I don't need to re-apply every few months.

Must have been an old batch or something. The first two syringes the pastes was fluid and and spread like it was suppose to. The other eight was a gobbing it on to make it work.

Works well. Unfortunately I received a stock that was about to expire in two weeks, so I had to return. Bought it from somewhere else and it works great. Keeps my CPU temp well below 60ish degC on peak load.
