It’s gaff tape—does exactly what you expect, and it does it well. The adhesive holds strong without leaving any sticky residue behind, which is what you want. For the amount you get, it’s a really solid value. Not much else to say—it works, it sticks, and it’s reliable. Would definitely buy again for general use around the house, studio, or set.

Adhésif qui ne colle pas. On aurai pu pensé que c'est un défaut du rouleau isolé mais j'en ai acheté deux et les deux collent à peine.

Déçu par ce scotch qui devais soit disant collé partout!Pour les doigts je confirme mais pour une membrane pare pluie cela ne fonctionne pas très bien du tout!

I've been using this tape for years in a theater application, taping down power and audio cords. We come in after noon, set up the stage, tape down the cords, put on the show, then have to tear down the state and rip all that tape back up before going home for the night. I've taped on concrete, (painted) wood, and metal with no problems peeling it back up. Doesn't leave any kind of residue.The only caveat to that is, don't leave the tape on something that then gets left out in the sun. Someone was "helping" me clean up and they pulled the cords off the ground without peeling the tape up first, with the result that the ends of the tape stuck to each other and got crimped up and then left on there for months without my noticing. The heat over those months melted the adhesive and ended up leaving a residue in that one instance. I chalk that one up to user error, though. Like the old doctor visit joke: "Doc, it hurts when I do this". Doc: "Well, then don't do that." So pull the tape up when you're done and it'll be fine.

Maybe we got a "Bad" batch but this tape didn't last at all. It doesn't hold that well, but good enough for a quick shoot. Maybe. However, our tape split apart after only a few uses. Meaning the black tore apart from the sticky layer and after 30 minutes of troubleshooting we gave up. Not reliable for real world production. Yes, it's cheaper, but likely for a reason.

This tape is very strong to safely secure power cords and other cables running along any surface including wood, metal, rugs, painted walls etc. The tape rips off by hand very easily and also disengages well, without removing any surface material or leaving a residue behind. If the tape glue surfaces contact each other, it can be hard to pull apart. I just take care when breaking down a job to make sure this does not happen. Great product, I continue to use this product for my video production jobs. This is a lot stronger than the normal duct tape on the market.

Great value! Tape holds when it needs to and removes clean. Extra large roll has lasted for plenty of gigs and still looks bigger than a regular sized roll.

I am a stagehand and sound engineer in the event production / music industry and I know good gaffer's tape from bad gaffer's tape. This is not "professional grade" gaffer tape.I primarily use this product to tape down audio/video cables to various surfaces, to create floor markings and to line the edges of set decor (such as fabric skirt curtains). Frankly, this tape doesn't cut it. Its flaws are as follows:-It is paper thin and rips too easily.-The adhesive is not strong enough to hold any items with any significant weight or porous surfaces.-Rips in the tape often don't end up ripping straight, leaving exposed adhesive and fabric threads.My most recent use case was first taping the edges of a cable ramp to a marble floor, followed by trimming fabric along a speaker. The tape was awkward to pull from the roll, to begin with. Because of how thin the tape is, it is hard to find the end. Then, when stretching it, this particular brand does not have any of the tensile (stretching) properties gaffer tape is supposed to have, so I had to pull a length and cut it rather than pull an edge, lay it down, and stretch from the role. Then, also because of the thinness, the tape failed to rip straight multiple times; a few of the rips I made in a normal motion ripped longitudinally as well as laterally. When applying this to the rubbery cable ramp, it would not grip it. It laid flat and had a good stick to the floor, but I was forced to "hug" the cable ramp (wrap it around the edges and then reinforce with cross-tape along the floor) and add two extra lines of tape. When trimming some fabric (a parachute-like piece hanging from the ceiling) to a speaker pole (plastic), I could get the tape to grab the fabric more than it was sticking to itself. In the end, I had to use the tape like rope and "tie" tip of the fabric into the loop. The adhesive is simply not strong enough.The only benefits of this particular product are it's price. If you're looking to hold some light items or use the tape for some temporary use, save yourself the money and get this. Otherwise, I'd move on to find a better gaff tape.I've written a similar review of TapePlus gaffer tape (https://www.amazon.com/Gaffers-Tape-Professional-Alternative-Electrical/dp/B018TKMNCA/); I'll say this again: Many of the reviews you see on this TapePlus Gaffer's Tape are by people who are using gaffer's tape for the first time. My impression is that these reviewers give this tape good reviews as if they are reviewing gaffer's tape vs. other kinds of type. They would love it, I'm sure, because of the obvious benefits gaffer's tape has over duct tape, scotch tape, painter's tape, scotch tape, etc. Those reasons are numerous: easier to tear, easier to remove, leaves no residue, is more heat resistant, a fabric backing, etc.

Not the tape I was looking for but glad that I found it.Was doing a search for a 2" yellow plastic tape that has a really great adhesive but at the same time, pulled off clean. I know a local contractors supply house here in Boston carries that particular tape because I aquired a couple of rolls from a laborer.I wound up buying the X fasten based on the price point and the reviews.Great tape. Tears easy and has stuck to every surface I've adhered it without leaving a residue when removed.A great alternative to duct tape but at a price.
