Bought this cable to connect an older eSATA 3.5" enclosure to a USB-A 3.2 USB hub that is connected to a dock that is connected to a laptop. Drive connects without problem and the connection seems stable x3 days continuous use.Would recommend this cable.

Got this and another brand in case there is some difference. Both were IDENTICAL, and both would not connect my external drive bays to the USB ports on my computer. My drive bay has 2 eSATA ports that I used to connect to a eSTAT card. But my new computer with USB2, 3, 4, and Thunderbolt does not have a eSATA, so I got these adapters, and they DO NOT WORK.

Worked well connecting an old 2 TB G-RAID eSATA to an old iMac USB 3.0 port, nearly tripling R/W speed over using an old USB 2 cable. Would NOT work with an older Macbook USB 2 port. Kinda pricey for use with 10-year old stuff, but it does the job with an old archiving hard drive. I'm keeping it, even though I received a lower price offer from an eBay seller after I took delivery from Amazon. Luck of the draw, I guess.

I have a lot of Firewire disk units that I've relied on for a long time, but the new generations of Macintoshes based on Apple silicon don't support it. I've tried using the appropriate genuine Apple adapters, but they simply don't support it anymore (though it still appears in About this Mac). The expensive Apple USB C to Thunderbolt adapter shows up, but the Firewire 800 Thunderbolt adapter doesn't.Fortunately, most of my Firewire storage devices also support eSata. The Xmsjsiy eSATA adapter cable plugs right into my M2 Mac and the eSATA disk drives. It's a less complicated solution, and is much faster than my old Firewire connections. The drives show up just as they did with the Firewire connections. This cable is a lot cheaper than the Apple solution, even if that had worked. For the simplified connection and the higher speed it's very worthwhile. i bought a second one for the Intel MacBook Pro even though Firewire still works on it.
