The brackets holding the shelf are significant to the appearance. Here, silvery plastic coated. Purchased a wider 19" shelf with brushed nickel metal for $5 more.

Horrible, crap product. The only reason I ended up installing it is because I had already drilled the holes. I had to hand-file the metal backings in order for THEIR screws to fit. Took me over an hour! Never again.

Although inspected by Amazon wherehouse it was sent with obvious parts missing. Now I have to go through the trouble and hassle of returning it. Poor job of quality control Amazon! Disappointing

Love the look and design. A little pricey but worth it. Maybe it is just our bathroom walls but it was difficult to find a spot to hang this securely.
