Bought this as its NMEA 2000. Every NMEA 2000 product I own on my yacht is plug and play. Don’t be fooled by this, it has to be set up and I now have to buy an NMEA to USB tool for nearly £200 to configure it. I spoke to tech support at Yacht Devices who were helpful but unapologetic about the fact it requires other items to function as intended on some chart plotters

This was purchased September 21. It picked up engine noise and showed completely the wrong temperature. Having drilled the exhaust it now has to go back for replacement. Boat in Greece. Very cumbersome. ☹

It is crazy but they will not work if screwed into a metal exhaust pipe that is grounded. The exact purpose of this device is to measure exhaust temps after the hot turbo on a boat with a diesel engine. This pipe is almost always metal and grounded with the engine. You either need to isolate the probe by potting it in the fitting with a high temp epoxy or similar or put it much farther down where the temps are much cooler with non metallic hoses and the readings are useless.
