This is a handy little tool, but there are better designs out there for just a gear, wrench, or two more. :)This appears to be an inexpensive 1/4" drive ratchet assembly retrofitted into a chrome wheel. The retching mechanism is a bit tight and hard to use because it's so small. It's also very heavy for its size and if dropped could damage something below it.Anyway, it works in tight places, and you can fit a bit in the back to use for screws. I would have preferred a female 1/4" on the back so I could use it with my regular ratchet, then remove it to unthread the nut the rest of the way.

This is great for those tight areas when a socket wrench just won't fit. The mechanics on this work smoothly and the fit and finish are quite good.

I got this 1/4" drive one because I had previously purchased a name-brand 3/8" finger wrench and really like it when I need it (I keep it in the package to hang it from peg board). This one is good, but it's not as good. A few points of comparison:The good:- it's robust - heavy and good solid ratcheting action- REALLY like that it can accommodate both sockets AND 1/4" bits so you can use if for screws etc as well.- It's pretty easy to manipulate the lever to change directionThe less good:- it's just a whole lot heavier than it needs to be. It feels like cast iron. Can be fatiguing.- the finger wells aren't as nice and easy to grip as the Gear Wrench one- it doesn't rotate on an axis like the gear wrench one, which can be a huge benefit when working in tight spaces.... which is when you'd use this!Overall, I would recommend going with the name brand on this one. It costs a little more, but it's worth the difference, at least to me. That said, this is a functional tool and if cost is your primary concern, it works well and should get the job done!

This finger ratchets is something I hadn't seen before. Though my use so far has been a bit limited, I expect to find occasions in the future where the compact size will allow me to easily manipulate bolts and screws where other traditional tools will fail me.The device seems pretty well made and the ratcheting action works well. While assembling a small piece of furniture, I attached a socket to this and was a bit surprised at how well it worked. In this particular case, a traditional tool would have sufficed and frankly worked better, but I haven't found the proper situation to use this tool yet so I was just testing. If space was more constrained, this would be the one to go to.

This is a solid steel tool, no aluminum or zinc alloy used here, and it has the heft to prove it. When you pick it up, it feels like something that will last for many years. I really like the fact that it can serve as both a ¼” drive ratchet and a ratcheting screwdriver. On the socket side, sockets are retained by a detent ball, and on the other side, the hex bits are magnetically retained. The finger ratchet is wider than a regular ¼” ratchet head, so there might be some clearance issues in tight quarters. However, for those situations where a screwdriver will not fit, or it’s hard to use a regular wrench, this thing will be very handy. There is also a square hole in the side of the tool into which you can insert a ¼” drive extension. This can give you extra leverage, or convert it into a stubby ratchet wrench.

First, I'm a product tester meaning my reviews are 100% critical. I'm 63 and retired after 32 years USMC so I've seen good and the bad. I've been a mechanic forever it seems and you'll always run across that one fastener that a wrench or socket won't work on due to confined space. You may only use something like this here or there but it sure is nice when you need it.
