The cam at the bottom of the chain can be moved into three positions, allowing the drummer to fine tune the pedal's action to match their preferred performance. It can also be used as a belt drive by replacing the belt that is included with the pedal.

I purchased the chain drive model. This thing looks sweet, feels smooth, and it's very sturdy attached to the bass drum. Very nice drive shaft and has infinite adjustability. The added anchors at the rear of the pedal keep both slave and main in place. Love the spring tensioner. But, with all the good it has to offer, the price tag leaves me questioning what it has to offer over a Tama Speed Cobra 910 ($479) or Pearl Eliminator redline ($529)? I own a first gen speed cobra and maintained it well. I've had it for 7 years. However, the drive shaft is showing some play and slave pedal feels behind the main always. The 910 and Eliminators do not feel this way. I assume the drive shaft on the Yamaha is what is really driving this price. I don't think anyone buying this pedal will feel like it's not a good pedal, I just feel like there are very comparable pedals out there for a lot less money. Still on the fence with this one.

This is an excellent double pedal. Probably the best I've played (with the exception of Czarcie, ACD, and some of the newer independent pedals, I've owned just about everything). SO, why am I giving it four stars? Because, I really feel at this price point, the slave pedal should be a fully functional independent pedal, rather than just a "Slave" pedal. I think it's ridiculous to pay $700+ to not get two single pedals. I know Tama Dynasync is the same price point and same issue, makes no sense to me. Axis, Trick, any other high end pedal is two single pedals in a double pedal setup. So, that's my reason for four stars.A couple of other things:If you like a REALLY tight spring, these probably won't go tight enough for you.If you like a really high footboard, the board can "Slap" or "Top Out" against the top of the pedal when you take your foot off of it. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's a little annoying. Also, if you like a really low footboard, your board may bottom out against the hoop clamp (like mine did on my 64 Ludwigs, had to raise the board up a bit).Overall it's a great pedal that Yamaha really took the time to get right. The feel is awesome. And, it's a very pretty pedal with the chrome and blue scheme.

Very impressed. Buttery smooth feel. Super stable wide foot boards. Very beefy well made drive shaft and Slave side matches the primary almost exact. Came with very high spring tension for me at least so I lowered the tension on each pedal a good 12 to 15 clicks counter clockwise each with the trusty tension adjuster knob. Moved the beaters foward about two inches and they were good to go. Adjustments are easily made with only a drum key which I love. Not going to name names but I have had many pedals in past where you need alen keys or other tools for adjustments. Not here.Fav pedal I’ve used. Pedal feels are personal but if you get a chance to try these make sure you do. Good to always try before you buy with pedals if possible. Everyone’s feel is unique. These are on light side but not too light like some direct drive pedals. I enjoy the weight. They are powerful and you can def cover any style of music with them. The long foot boards work great for heal down and heel toe. The beaters are felt come with weights to adjust feel and have a nice rebound but I swapped them out as I prefer plastic beaters for more attack.
