About this item

  • 🛡️ SECURING YOUR LINER. This pool floor padding goes beneath the liner to protect it from sharp rocks in soil, roots, grass growth, bugs, and regular wear and tear. Your round pool liner will last up to 3 times longer thanks to the tear-resistant pad
  • 👌 STREAMLINED INSTALLATION. Spread the under pool padding (trim if needed) on leveled ground and put your soft-wall pool (including inflatable ones) right on it. For hard-wall pools, just install the coves, spread the pad, and cover with the liner. Choose the round, rectangular or the oval pad according to your pool’s shape
  • 💪 TOUGH, UNIVERSAL FABRIC. The above ground pool liner pad is made of pro-grade geotextile that is highly resistant to multiple types of mechanical damage. It works for different surfaces: grass, sand, stone, cement / concrete, and wood decks
  • ☁️ SOFTER POOL FLOOR. Walking on the pool bottom pad feels nice as the swimming pool floor pad adds an extra layer between the liner and the ground and cushions roughness underfoot, which can persist even after you’ve thoroughly cleared the area
  • 💧 SLIGHT INSULATION AND EROSION CONTROL. The pool floor liner pad helps keep the water at a comfortable temperature. Also, pool ground mats act as a barrier against seepage beneath the pool and deter rain accumulation to help prevent soil erosion

It was time to replace our above ground pool and we purchased this to give some extra padding underneath. We have a concrete pad, but there are some rough patches in it that actually wore through a spot in our old pool. This seems like it’s got a good thickness to it and also will give a little bit more cushion to the floor of the pool. Nicer on the bare feet.

Very nice thick liner. We got this liner to put under our above ground pool. We are going to layer sand on top of it and then add another pool pad liner on top of the sand. The material of this liner is very thick and dense so I really don’t think we’ll have an issue with grass growing through it. We probably could have gotten away with just this liner but we like to overdo things! It is a little heavy so having two people or more to spread it out is ideal. My husband and I laid it out ourselves but an extra person would have been nice. I ordered the 28’ for our 24’ pool. I wanted that little extra protection around the edges. We plan on putting rocks or mulch around the outside of the pool with a few plants in pots. I can’t testify about long term use, but if things change I will update this review.

This pool underlayment is made from a tightly woven synthetic fabric, very reminiscent of premium landscaping barrier cloth. It’s not thick or padded, but it does a great job creating a protective barrier between your pool and the ground. It helps guard against small rocks, sharp debris, weeds, and roots that could otherwise damage the pool liner over time. Do not expect it to be protected from larger stones or other items. As the pool fills with water, the weight makes this liner more sheer and you can still feel some of what is under the pool.

Every couple years I refresh the stuff under my pop up pool. This year I chose this black pad. Super dark fabric. Size was spot on. I have an 18' pool, 18' pad. Ideally it lasts a few seasons!!

This is a big thick liner pad. It went under my Coleman power steel 25' round pool. What a difference under the feet. You don't feel the sand anymore. I'm sure it will make the pool floor last longer.

I got this Yankee Pool Liner to put under our pool for our grandkids. It is basically a big round piece of felt. I was looking for something with a little more padding and assumed for the steep price, it was padded somewhat, but it is not. That being said, it is tightly woven and works fine under the pool. Just not what I hoped for or expected.

Setting up the pool for the summer, needed a nice thick pad to keep the gravel from poking thru the bottom. This is super thick and looks like it will do the trick over the summer. just laid it out and set the above ground round pool on it.

I have a small pool (10-footer) that I install on a concrete paver patio. I like to have a fabric underlayment to help protect the bottom of the pool from damage or possible punctures from a few uneven blocks protruding upwards. I have used similar fabric underlayment products, and in my estimation, this “Yankee” pool underlayment is an excellent product. The material is a tightly woven fabric, very similar to a high-quality landscaping weed-blocking material. It provides something of a buffer between the bottom of the pool and sharp objects as well as weeds, roots, rocks and that sort of thing. Using it on paver blocks like I am doing means that I should be able to get probably three seasons out of it. If you are using it directly on dirt/grass, you might be able to get the same, but I’ve seen and heard about some gnarly plants managing to grow through these materials over time.If you haven’t seen or used a product like this one before, you need may need to temper your expectations. If I may elaborate - my initial expectation when I previously ordered one of these from another manufacturer, was that it was going to be a thick material that offered some level of cushioning or padding. That is really not the case with this stuff – it is a thin material, less than 1/8 of an inch thick, and there is no cushioning or padding. The underlayment is just that – a protective buffer that takes the edge off any sharp or pointing materials that might perforate the pool base – again, rocks, pebbles, roots, and such, and it helps keep plants from growing beneath the pool. The material really is similar to landscaping paper, however, it is of a higher quality and more dense and tightly woven construction. In that regard, I think “Yankee” did a fine job with this underlayment. My only gripe? You guessed it – the price. While this is a high-quality underlayment, the current price of $80 for a 15-footer is on the high side compared to some other offerings. I think they need to reduce the price to reflect a more competitive stance. Given the current $80 price tag, I’m at four-stars on this one.
