I kept crossing and messing up the end of my drain with the riding mower since I only had a plastic end cap. This drain does not only offers better drainage, it is also very strong and it looks great. Cleaning is also easy as it only takes removing 2 screws to remove the cap. I got an adapter to connect it to corrugated pipe so I could connect it to the corrugated pies that are already handling the rain water in the property. The adapter I got is called Polylok 4" Corrugated Pipe Adapter, in case you need to look for one here in Amazon.

Overview:As described.Experience:Works as promised. No issues what so ever, meets expectations. Commercial grade material that will hold up to anything but a mower blade.... Beveled slotted opening (green part) is removable. Good enough for my house :) no complaints. (Ok sounds like same review I did for another drain but they are identical in every way but brand name, even price, which is the only draw back as once you add the required coupling and glue your out of pocket $60.1 star=safety issue or just junk.2 stars=major flaw, issues with quality, not as described.3 stars=minor flaw or just short of expectations.4 stars=meets expectations with no negative aspects.5 stars=well it's got to wow me, and exceed expectations.

This emitter is a nice end to my area drain that captures roof runoff through my house gutter system. I connected the area drain, which is a box collector under the downspout of my roof gutter that incorporates a 16 foot 4 inch flex pipe that is buried across my yard, and it's a perfect way of dispersing the water away from my house foundation at the end of the drain pipe. The emitter does not come with a coupler. The construction of the emitter is fairly stout (the wall of the pipe section is 0.5" thickness PVC), and the surface of the drain is angled to create a low profile. The emitter is large because of the angle. The price is not cheap, but the durability of the product is evident in the stoutness of the product. This is a nice way to expel water from your downspouts, away from your foundation, utilizing a buried pipe collection system that you can transmit to this emitter.

I've had a similar angled drain that I used on a different drain line and it was sized such that I could just slip my 4" tile line over it and insert 4 screws to hold it in place. This is a bit larger and required an 'outside' coupler to connect to the existing tile line, replacing a flat end cap that the rodents had started chewing through. The advantage to this is I can just remove the coupler/drain cap assembly when I need to clean out the line without having to remove any screws.

This drain emitter was the perfect solution to a drain issue in our yard. It connected directly to the 4 inch drain and provided a visually pleasing and efficient terminal for the drain which also keeps out the ground squirrels and snakes that had started frequenting the pipe. Made of thick plastic with a heavy plastic grate on the end. Easy to install and a good value.

This arrived exactly as pictured. It feels durable/well-made and not cheap or flimsy. I'll be using it to drain a sump pump into the yard.
