These little sewing kits would be handy if you could get into them without needing to use tools to get them open. And once open, they don't slide out far enough to reach all the supplies inside. I had to slide a knife into one end to get it started sliding open, but then there's a catch on the case (to keep the lid on I suppose?) that prevents you from reaching the thread, the safety pin, and the buttons on the other end. I did get one open very forcefully, and two of the needles with the thread attached dislodged and are tangled up in the case now. I don't know what I expected for $7.49, actually. LATER: I found that instead of sliding them open as the item description shows, you can pry one side up and have full access to the contents. They get an extra star from me.

These are nice little sewing kits. Each kit 10 different color threads pre-threaded into needles. It also comes with a couple of clear buttons. Each kit is in a clear plastic box with a sliding top. It seals up tightly.I got these kits to send to kids overseas via Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. I know that the kids and their families will get good use from them. Recommended.
