I used this with my SDS drill or regular drill but its really meant for narrow, thin logs, 4" or less in diamter. Anything larger, I find the bit get stuck. You also need to step on the log when drilling or it will spin and whack you.

This product did not work for me. I used a electric and battery operated drill and it would not split the wood. In fact it got stuck in the wood. For this product to work your wood must be super dry. I really was excited for this product and was very disappointed.

I thought this product was too good to be true when I saw the video for it. It is. It does not work to an absurd degree. on the first use of it it simply got stuck in the piece of wood that I was trying to split. I had to saw it out to retrieve it. if the wood is old and dry and already cracked, this would probably do some splintering, but if you're what is already at that point I don't understand why you would need help to splinter it. Save your money, this is a joke

Bit does not lock in, so if you drill too far into the wood with out it splitting, you cannot simply reverse the drill bit as the tip will unscrew from the attachment. Wood needs to be very very dry and you need to drill into very small pieces of the wood

Tried this in several different areas on the wood I was trying to break into kindling. When it catches and seizes, it will then spin your drill around and about twist your wrist. Then you have to get the struck bit out. A guy shows a video of him wrenching it back out, but all that happens when you try to use the wrench is it backs the base bit out (the part that goes in your drill and screws into the threaded back end of the drill bit) still leaving the screw bit embedded in the wood. This was a colossal waste of time and money. Get a wedge and a hand-held sledge hammer. Quicker and far less hassle...

Tried to use several times with a newer 18v cordless drill. May work ok with a Corded drill, but stopped half way through most of the wood I tried to cut.

I purchased this bit for work in my cordless drill. It would get just deep enough in the wood to grip and then it would just stop spinning. I tried it several times on different pieces of the wood and it would stop spinning but the shaft would spin in my drill. I was afraid I was going to burn out my drill.I gave it two stars because it seems sturdy but I guess it won't work unless you've got a really powerful impact drill or something. The pictures showed a regular drill so I thought it would work on mine.No such luck.
