I still have the following comments for the XL clips, but I called Yellow Bird and they bare replacing the clips. Changed from 1 star to 4. ...I watched the video for these new clips, and I could get the back one to work with 3 loops instead of one, front clip does not hold at all. Sadly, I could not get out to use it in time. Do not order this product! Old clips are pictured, not what you get. I ordered one awhile back for the other side, came with the old clips, works great.

The board wouldn't plane, and would just get dragged behind the boat.---Bad productSo I called the company, the first person had no answer and the second person never called me back.---Bad serviceSo I made modifications to the board, moving the mast forward, reducing weight, and sealing the foam compartment.---It then worked okayThen the back clip jammed up and would not work and the foam pad fell out making it useless.I recommend to not buy this product, spend a little more money, and buy from a different company.

I was trolling two rods out the back of the boat and wasn't catching anything. I put the YellowBird planer board on and almost immediately I was catching fish. The shadow of the boat was spooking the fish out to the side away from the boat. The YellowBird planer board had my lure in the right position to catch these fish. I use the 8" size and I troll for rainbow trout. This is my second set of YellowBird planer boards that I have purchased. I liked them so much I purchased a second set. I really like the new clips on these. They are a great upgrade!

This item works great. Yellow bird really has their engineers working hard to put out a product that is easy to use when out on the water. We just came back from a trip on lake Erie and tested the products out. My brother and I only used the Yellow Bird products on a local lake to try them out for the first time. They are easy to use and the Tattle flag system showed us when a fish was on while swimming with the board. I recommend the Yellow Bird Products to all anglers. Great job "Team Yellow Bird"!!!!!!!

I just received a matched set. Was delighted to see they were made in the USA, a few miles from away from our town.The packaging was good, everything was intact without damage. I was surprised to see a small wrench in the package to assist with the final assembly. The final assembly was simple and well documented. An extra spring for the flag was included in both packages.Given the quality of construction, I am confident these will work wellI am going to use these tomorrow, so I will update the review when I have some on-the-lake experience.Updated 12/1/18 - I ordered both port and starboard models. Both items performed exactly as designed. Couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks!

I use Yellow birds while slow trolling bait or lures. Without good planes I am limited to the width of the boat while trolling. I have tried different manufators planes, but now I only use Yellow's. I love to catfish for big Blues. I usually drift troll, making long slow passes. Without the planes I can cover 8-10 feet per pass. With the Yellowbirds I cover sixty feet per pass, and could go wider. My buddy and I use six rods, three to left and three to the right. There are few things in life more exciting than hearing a clip snap and seeing a rod bow double, very few.I am in the process of buying a bigger boat. I can not wait to drag my birds through the Gulfstream. Dolphin fish chase after schools of bait, I plan to make a wide school for them to attack, hopefully my next review will tell you how it turned out!
