I did not try this on a boiled egg, but I did try it 5 or 6 times on a raw egg. When I pressed the 2 ends, the little jagged teeth did emerge, but they did not penetrate the egg shell. Instead, they just slip and slide around and the egg remains completely intact. (I tried to hold it on the end of the egg as securely as possible, but nothing I did helped.)This product was a total fail and is absolutely not recommended.

Every time I squeezed this thing it would climb up the LARGE egg instead of puncture the shell. Perhaps yellow is for SMALL eggs, but webpage does not specify color code.
