I should have known that the $30 version of a $150 part would be of poor quality. The shoe did not slide freely in the guides and the unit severely overtightened my chain to the point that it was whining loudly. It was so bad that I pulled it out, threw it in the trash, and reinstalled my factory automatic tensioner.
