I already had YoLink devices to warn of problems, and the Controller 2 and smart main water valve to manage flow of water into the house. I bought the YoLink Smart Water Valve Controller, with Non-Smart Water Valve Manipulator to install on a ball valve so I can add water to my pool when I travel.I live in Florida and in the summer under the right conditions I can loose close to 1/2" a day, all though 1/2" in 3 or 4 days is more common. When I see the pool level getting a little low on security cameras I turn the valve on to add water. I know that 20 minutes adds about 1/2" so I turn it on with the YoLink app and set the timer for 20 or 40 minutes depending on how much I want to add. It notifies me when the valve has been turned off and I can double check through cameras to verify if I like. It's a great device that was easily added to my system to help me manage my home when I'm away.

This is a great concept at an affordable price but they need to work on a design that fits an exterior water ball valve shut off. In my instance the the clamp did not fit around the pipe in order to have a proper fit. Because it didn’t have a proper fit , the motor could not close the valve. I would also recommend a stronger motor

Using this controller with the water link sensors gives me peace of mind knowing that if a sensor detects a water leak, it sends a signal to the shut-off valve and closes it within seconds! I've had a water leak in the past in the kitchen when we weren't home and it flooded several rooms. If we had this system then, it would have saved us thousands in damage repairs! Even if your power goes out and you lose wi-fi, the system uses a high frequency radio signal to communicate, so it works regardless of wi-fi. The valve is powered by a power pack that uses 4 AA batteries that should last up to 3+ years. Even then, the unit will send a low battery signal to your phone or other smart device. You can also use the app and check on the status of each sensor at anytime. I have a sensor near every water supply line in the house, e.g., under sink, refrigerator water line, water heater, toilet water lines, etc. If triggered, the valve shuts off the water and then sends text messages and email. You can also open or close your water valve at any time using the app. GREAT SETUP AT A VERY LOW COST!

TLDR: These are *AWESOME*!!!!!!!!I have to admit, I was *really* skeptical of the "YoLink" family of products when I bought them. It sounds kind of hoaky and well, I didn't think it would work all that well. BOY, I WAS WRONG! I bought a YoLink Hub with leak sensors and bought this 3-pack to protect extra areas of my home. About a week after installation, they went off when my water heater relief valve let go and the water got shut off immediately so that the flood was very limited in scope. These devices are awesome so far, and I am so glad I have bought them. I also bought sensors for my refrigerators and a water shutoff valve motor that automatically shuts the water off to my house if a leak is detected. I can see the status of my home from anywhere that I have cell signal!Installation: Couldn't be easier. Get the app from the app store, click on the "scan" button and scan a QR code on the back of the device. It gets added to your YoLink Home, and after you power it on, you get instant feedback as to the health of the device, the health of the connection, and the status (alarmed or normal). 10 seconds per device to install. You can name each one, organize them into rooms, and many other options.Function: I tested the leak sensors by licking my fingers and bridging the contacts with my wet finger. Each one I have bought has alarmed on all of the sensors on the device. There are two sensors on the bottom and one on the top (cleverly in a little "cup") that would hold water if it were spraying everywhere.App: The app is pretty decent. I get a dashboard that lets me see my whole home at a glance. There are a few confusing parts, like Scenes, and "Automation" which are not immediately obvious. But they have a few videos that help and their customer service was pretty responsive.Range: I have a sensor in the basement freezer and one in my kitchen refrigerator. While they aren't horribly far from the hub, they have full strength signals despite being in cold temperatures and inside the refrigerator boxes.Battery Life: I cannot comment yet, but they are not replaceable and are supposed to last 5 years. I hope that's true. But even if they last a couple years, the disaster they save you might be worth it.Installed locations: Under each bathroom sink, Under kitchen sink, Under each toilet tank, near my washer and dryer, behind my refrigerator (icemaker has leaked before), Near my boiler, near my water heater, near the A/C condensate pump.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my YoLink system. This was well worth the money, especially since it already saved me from one bad flood.
