I got these flickering lanterns originally to hang from my patio umbrella, and they work perfect. But I found myself moving them around because they are so pretty. I put them on paving stones when I'm having parties, and I use them to decorate my little pond and my firepit in the backyard when we aren't having a bonfire.They are lightweight, which makes them great to hang on anything without weighing it down. In extremely windy conditions, you want to make sure they are secured either by hanging or staking them down.The solar panel is large enough that the lanterns will run most of the night after charging in the sun for just a few hours. They are capable of fully charging even on overcast days.

These are very decorative and thematic lights and they last a decent amount of time too, often into 3 or 4am with some variation for each lantern, positioning and how cloudy it was. Would get more for their purpose.

These lanterns work well, were very easy to setup. Just pull the switch to on. The switch is well hidden behind the frame. They charge well during the day so they are on all night and do give the feeling that there's a flame inside it. My only thing is that the plastic seems very cheaply made. With the use of a little better plastic it could have such a higher perceived quality compared to now.

I waited a bit to write this review to see how these work in the colder and darker weather of Wisconsin. Happy to say they still are as good as when I put them out 3 months ago. Happy with these!
