The threads on the eye bolts are smooth and without burrs or other deformities. The included nuts screw on very easily, and there is so little friction that you can occasionally spin them on the eye bolts by just flinging your finger. Yet, the nuts seem to fit the eye bolt fairly well, and there is very little 'play' between the bolt and nut. Flat washers are also included, but I will probably replace them with split lock washers to prevent the nuts from loosening.I ordered these eye bolts specifically for hanging outdoor bamboo poles above our front windows. We use these poles to easily hang outdoor blinds on hooks in front of our windows during scorching summer days. Whereas the blinds are taken down in the fall, the bamboo poles remain in place. We tried eyescrews previously, but found that they could tear out from the bamboo during a windstorm. These eye bolts will go completely through the bamboo poles, and the nuts should hold the bolts in place and prevent them from tearing out. Unfortunately, we still have several more months of cold and gloom before I need to get started on this project.
