With the C8.25 carrier, there are only really 2 options for dealing with the C-clips after a gear change: Cut the gears to allow the pin to slide in and out, or use this pin. This applies to open carriers (and maybe some lockers?). With this pin, you can easily remove the C-clips by removing the retention bolt and rotating to expose the channel to push the axle in and expose the C-clip channel. It was of decent quality and seems to be hardened as expected. No cutting/grinding needed. I went from a 27 spline carrier with 3.55:1 gears to a 29 spline carrier and 4.56:1 gears fairly easily… just don’t forget this pin when installing the ring gear onto the carrier.
