This mic surprised me. Out of the package, it looked identical to another one I'd reviewed not long ago, and I thought "this is probably the same mic, just from another seller," but the sound is very different. It has the Sennheiser-type connector, and was tested with a Sennheiser EW-100 G2 transmitter. Like others, it's lightweight and discreet, and should fit almost anyone comfortably.Breath noise will only be a problem if you don't position it next to your cheek, as you're meant to, rather than in front of your mouth.Gain & Noise:It's significantly louder than the original Sennheiser headset - 4-6db louder with normal speech at identical gain settings, but it also picks up much more room noise (around 20db), as it's omni directional. Here's where it surprised me. While similar mics were really muddy sounding, this one was much more crisp and had an almost "scooped" sound. It required much less fiddling with EQ to get what I wanted out of it.Conclusion:If you're looking for a budget replacement headset that's unobtrusive, and you'll be in an environment where an omnidirectional mic is appropriate (you're the only speaker in a fairly quiet room, not on stage with amplified instruments) this is a great choice, in my opinion.

This double over ear hanging mic has good sound. It’s not as good as a Countryman brand, but it’s very usable. The mic and connection seem well built.

If I'm honest, it sounds like an old, 90s headset mic. In my experience, sure, it could be used for a middle school play or something of the sort, but this has to be on the lower end of the hundreds I've used throughout the years. As for its physicality, it stays on well and fits comfortably, but I would definitely need to affix the mic with tape to get a consistent sound. Feels about the same as the other lower-cost ones I've used in terms of quality and durability, so that's good. For $25, I'm sure you could find something a bit better if you keep searching, but if this is all you find, it'll work. Without building a pretty solid live plugin chain, I don't see myself using this even for public speaking, but I'll keep it as an extra anyways.

After putting this headset microphone through its paces, I've got a pretty good feel for what it offers. For the price, it definitely has some strong points, especially if you need a backup or an entry-level option.Pros:Good Value: Several reviewers mentioned the excellent value for the price, and I have to agree. It's a budget-friendly option that doesn't completely skimp on functionality.Good Sound Quality: For its intended use, the sound quality is generally good. It's not going to compete with high-end mics, but it's perfectly adequate for speaking engagements and presentations especially if your PA system is also budget.Compatibility with Sennheiser Systems: It does connectivity with Sennheiser wireless body packs.Comfortable and Lightweight: It is lightweight and comfortable to wear, especially the dual ear hook design, which seems to offer a secure fit. The one ear design the mic will fall off position if you move around.Cons:Fit Issues for Some: While many found it adjustable, a few users with potentially larger heads experienced issues with the fit and the security of the clip.Build Quality Concerns: this is NOT a microphone for workout or performance. This is strictly a presentation microphone.Sensitivity to Plosives: The microphone seems prone to picking up pops and hisses ("plosives"), so a pop filter is definitely recommended for optimal sound, that is, always us e the included foam.Lack of Instructions/Warranty: The absence of any instructions or warranty information is a bit concerning.Side changing: You can change sides on this microphone best fitting for you camera work.Overall / Summary:For the price, this headset microphone offers a decent entry point or a reliable backup option, particularly if you're already using Sennheiser wireless systems. The sound quality is acceptable for speaking and general use. However, the build quality seems to be where costs were cut, and some users might experience fit issues.Buy or Pass?Buy (with caveats): If you're on a tight budget and need a functional headset mic for speaking engagements, presentations, or as a backup, and you primarily use Sennheiser equipment, this could be a worthwhile purchase. Just be aware of the potential build quality and plosive issues.Pass: If you require a more robust and high-fidelity microphone for professional audio work or if you're concerned about long-term durability, you might want to invest in a higher-end option.
