The costomer service was wonderful and they talked me through what I needed to know but the directions it came with are wordy and hard to follow. I also do not like the color contrast they use on the screen hard to read. The numbers are Thin and not dark enough to see easily. All that said It dose work well and does what it is suppose to if you can get through the learning process.

I was crushed - CRUSHED - when my Fagor multi-cooker died. I'd had it for years, and used it all the time for both slow cooking and pressure cooking. I knew Fagor had left the USA market. I dreaded having to get an insta-pot.Imagine my delight, when poking around to maybe find some remnant of back stock, that Fagor USA was reborn as Zavor! As quick as my little fingers could smash 'buy now' I put that puppy into my cart. What do I love about it? Check out the Cooks Illustrated review for their hot take, but also here are mine:It's big enough to cook a big meal in.Lots of configurability in the controls. Pretty identical to the insta-pot in this regard.Delay start with slow cook. This is difficult to find in slow cookers in the USA. If you're going to leave your house in the morning and want dinner when you return in the evening, for us the amount of time away (generally 9-ish hours) was too long for many dishes. Delay start is the way to go.It gets hot - HOT - in the brown/saute function. Combined with an almost completely flat cooking surface (the very edge is slightly dipped - this is a good thing to allow even browning) this means that this can truly be a one-pot-to-wash workhorse. The stainless steel insert is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.Love. Love. Love. Highly recommend this.

I am not a "gadget" person when it come to the kitchen. I also consider myself a serious cook. When my old slow cooker died, I decided to try this since I was always interested in a pressure cooker and this had both features. I really like the appliance and I use it several times a week. I cook a lot of vegetables, beans, and soups in it and they come out great. I also like to use it for cooking potatoes in the morning with eggs because it is so fast and energy efficient. The high slow cook is hotter than other slow cookers I have used but I find it convenient for cooking soups quickly. (I later discovered that the high slow cook boiled harder than usual because I am at high altitude!...It works normally at sea level). The 4qt size is perfect for two people. The first few times I used it, there was a chemical smell coming off of it probably from the heat element. But it is not in contact with the food and the food was fine. Overall I highly recommend this cooker.

Update 3 (June 19, 2020)I finally received a perfect, working unit from Zavor. I cannot really complain about their customer service during this process as they were quite responsive to my concerns and sent out units until we received one that satisfied us. The new unit works as expected and again lives up to its reputation. I can now happily add that Zavor's customer service matches what you should expect from such a high-quality product. 5-stars from me, to now include the customer service experience.Update 2 (June 11, 2020)After much back-and-forth with the Zavor rep, I finally received a replacement unit today. We opened it up and turned it on and it worked! But it was DENTED!!! I will be sending the old, broken unit back tomorrow (thankfully, they provided a pre-paid shipping label for us). But we will be requesting yet another unit to replace this DENTED one. Because the unit actually works, I'm still only going give it 2-stars because I now have to deal with a DENTED unit. I will likely give it more stars once this gets resolved. Until it does...2-stars. I know Zavor can do better. Keep posted.Update 1 (June 5, 2020)I got a response from a Zavor representative via e-mail yesterday. She asked me for information regarding me and the defective unit (i.e., registration info, invoice, photos of unit and serial number, etc.), which I promptly sent. Have not received any response yet. Unit still doesn't work. Until it does, the 1-star rating remains... Keep posted.June 3, 2020I read many reviews for this product. I never heard of Zavor before, so I had no clue about that company's reputation. But the rave reviews for the LUX LCD (ZELL02) persuaded me to purchase it back in April of this year (2020). It worked as expected and did wonderfully. I even went to Zavor's website and purchased another stainless steel pot. All the reviews regarding how well performs were spot on.Then, just yesterday (June 3, 2020), it just stopped working. No sign of life whatsoever. No beeps, lights, noise, nothing. I went to the Zavor website to troubleshoot. It recommended plugging in the cord properly, which of course I did numerous times. I even used other outlets. Still nothing.I called the Zavor phone number listed on the Warranty Info and was told that any repairs, service, or replacements are "temporarily delayed."Bummer.So, for now, I can only give this product what it deserves: 1 Star. It should actually be zeros stars but there is no option for that.I will hopefully provide the product with more stars and a more favorable review when the product actually works again, but that, of course, will have to be "temporarily delayed."

So far, I love this little appliance! I chose it based on the recommendations of America’s Test Kitchen. The digital display is a little fiddly and took me a few tries to get it going the first time I used it, but it has more different options and functions than I will probably ever use and includes all of the ones I actually will. I especially love that it has an option for a sous vide function, although I have not used it for that purpose yet. It makes perfectly cooked rice in about 20 minutes including cool down/depressurization time, as well as fall-apart tender corned beef in only an hour and a half. The included cookbook also has a bunch of delicious sounding recipes I plan to try in the near future. It’s kind of the best thing in my kitchen.Notable for everyone wanting to buy a multi-cooker to replace multiple small appliances in your kitchen, if you’re planning to ditch your slow cooker after getting one of these (or one of its competitors), make sure you subtract an hour off the cook time for slow cooking recipes, even for cooking on low heat. If you don’t, meats may come out a bit tough. This is another hint I got from ATK to compensate for the fact that these heat up so much quicker than a slow cooker does.
