This extruder pulls the filament thru without crushing, or deforming it. Easy to install by watching the video on the site. You MUST REDO your esteps for this product. My Stock estep was 94, but with this one it's 135. The dual gears are smaller in diameter, so more turns are needed for same length of filament. There are many videos on youtube on how to do this. Easy install and calibration.

Very strong stable and dependable extruder. Some notes: Black powder residue eventually shows up after a while of printing and probably comes from extruder gear grease probably not something to be worried about. Filament residue eventually piles up at the filament inlet as it scrapes during printing due to extrusion and retraction.

I bought this metal extruder when my original plastic one failed me and broke.I had to go find a YouTube video to show me how to install this, but with that it was easy and quick.Once it was installed it fixed my problem I was having with 3D printing.Would recommend to anyone with a plastic extruder to upgrade to a metal one and this one is great - especially for the price.I have a Voxelab printer.

A bit confusing to install and calibrate, but once finished it seems to have greatly improved print quality. Is also easier to change filament now than with the stock Ender 3 extruder.

While its a good design and gives good prints. there is a common issue with the secondary driven gear bearing. it breaks/wears out, and then the gear is on a slight angle, that gear then eats away into the triangular bracket that holds it. you can see all the aluminum shavings of the gaer now eating aware on its holding bracket. (you can see the slight angle, and aluminum shavings on the bottom).. if you search the forums you will see this is a common problem people have with this

Could not figure out why after dozens of good prints, they all started to fail 1/2 way thru. Found out thru a youtube video that the plastic tensioner supplied with the printer is prone to fail and crack where you can't see unless you remove it. Same identical crack, same location. Researched aluminum tensioners and upgraded to the duel tensioner! Everything is back to normal. During installation of the new aluminum tensioner you should pack the bearing with grease to extend the life of the unit!

This replaced another aluminum extruder I had as I wanted Dual feed gears. For the Ender 3V2, you need to know two things:1) the feed is 5mm higher than the standard, so if you have something like a filament sensor before your extruder and it's lined up, you need to redesign.2) the steps/mm needs to be changed from whatever you are at to about 140.Otherwise, I'm thrilled.

First of all, it is likely I will update this review later. The kit appears to be well made and installation is not very difficult, but Creality has made some changes that might spell doom foe this upgrade. To begin with, my original extruder drive gear was pressed onto the motor shaft, not held in place with a set-screw. With a little effort I was able to make a miniature gear puller to remove the gear. The next surprise was that my motor shaft has no flat for a set screw. But even with all of that, I still was going to install the upgrade. The final challenge came when I discovered that my motor shaft was too short for the longer drive gear. The set-screw just misses the top of the shaft. My solution is to purchase another stepper motor with a longer shaft. My main issue with the Ender 3 Pro is filament feed. I've relocated the feed spindle, but the problems still exist. The Creality extruder feed is just not up to overcoming even moderate resistance in the feeding of filament. The problem isn't slippage on the feed gear, but motor stall. The motor is just too weak for the task. The dual gear upgrade kit provides more than just the improved grip on the filament, which in my case is not the issue. Because the extruder drive gear is smaller in diameter than the stock unit, a mechanical advantage is provided, effectively improving the torque of the motor. This should help prevent the motor stall I have been seeing.

This fixes the slip that causes under or over extrusion. This is the right one to get for an ender 3 and a must have for perfect prints.

It's very good quality and easy to install without instructions. All the people who said it was difficult to install are crazy and obviously have no sense of everyday know-how. Buy now.... Like go and click the buy button... Just tap it now.... BUY IT!!

Well so far it is working very well. It pulls really good with no slipping so far. There is no instructions which always makes me mad. I can assemble about anything but I know some people cannot. One warning on the gear assembly that is ready to go do not over tighten the bolt or you will lock the gear up. The gear that goes on the stepper shaft should have two set screws instead of one. You will have to make sure the gear on the stepper motor aligns at the same height as the other one or it may not pull right. This is worth the money because if you get a roll of pla that has the diameter too small this will make up for it.

So I want to try and be fair to this product as the build quality is very good, however I thought since this was made for the CR10 I could just bolt it in and get printing and that would be that. The fact that this item comes without directions is unacceptable, make a YouTube video or a PDF if you don't want to include printed directions but it needs instructions. The one thing I wanted to make clear is this requires modified E steps in order to work properly. I was under-extruding by 30% after installing this. Because the CR10 cannot load new firmware this became an issue, one that I solved by adjusting E-steps in my slicer but some might not be comfortable with that. Other than that the extruder works very well, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but it is not as simple as bolting it on and away you go.
