the video quality is very low, with a lot of ripple and garbage around the on screen closed caption and text, as well a lot of squares when the video moves fast. Terrible.

I was able to get this working right away will little fuss. Changed channel to 110 using front display, came in clearly on a 9 year old HDTV no issues at all. I wish it had a quieter fan, and even at the discounted price, it's pretty expensive and I highly doubt it needs to be. If it was a better value I'd give it 5 stars. Still, I think it's less expensive than running hdmi and splitters everywhere.Hint: I used the component output from my Dish into an HDMI adapter that I already had and then into the 810. It means no encryption. You give up Dolby digital this way in favor of Dolby surround, but if you are just going to a TV without a 5.1+ setup, none of that matters.

was able to use to send a DTV signal across coax to some gym equipment (due to the recent drop by all cable companies of analog signal). Had to insert a hdmi splitter to strip the hdcp from the box, but after that this sends HD video/audio over coax to the gym equipment which they have tuners for.

I used this product to broadcast an information channel on an existing coax network. It was fairly simple, just used a 1 in/2 out coax splitter backwards to input the cable feed and zee feed into the wire that splits off into different rooms. In my case a 170 room hotel installed where main feed comes into building.

This modulator reaffirms the old adage "you get what you pay for." ZeeVee has produced a quality product through and through - right down to the manual and software. The unit is housed in a heavy metal cabinet. Fit and finish are excellent. Love the mounting ears. Setup was a breeze using the built-in software that is accessed using a standard web browser. Software appears to have been done in the USA. Very intuitive and easy to use yet still very full-featured. Had it up and running in a few minutes. Front color LCD is sharp and crisp and completely unnecessary given the IP interface. Picture produced is a beautiful high resolution image. No complaints there whatsoever. Gets 4 out of 5 stars because the price is so high. There is no obvious reason for that.This unit was purchased for a home security camera system. The DVR HDMI output feeds the modulator. Modulator sends HD video throughout the house over the existing RG-6 CATV wiring. Televisions must be set to CABLE TUNER to receive the modulator. Note that this may make it inconvenient to quickly switch between "regular" over the air channels and the modulator channel. Many TV's require you to go into the menu to switch between the CABLE and over the air tuner.
