1. After the product is installed,insert the hex wrench to rotatefrom right to left to adjust thetension of the spring.

Having experience with door hardware made this doable. If all doors were set up like the pictures, an average person with minimal skills could install this. As you can see in the picture a spacer need to be made for it to operate correctly. Aluminum body, plastic arm guide and no English instructions. Once installed it works very well and I will be buying another one for another door. As you may have noticed some reviews complain about the arm scratching the door. This is the reason a spacer is required to align the mounting surfaces. Hope this helps.

This thing is cheap junk. Could not close a light 36" gate. Just threw it in the trash 10 min after I installed it. Save your money

I wanted to get a device to help make sure the front door shuts properly. There have been times when the latch didn’t close all the way and a gust of wind blew the door open. This works okay, but it is a bit difficult to put in a door with molding. The screws are also a bit short and I worry they might not hold if the door is slammed shut

Easy to install, though the arm doesn't quite seat in its little holder on the door itself in my particular installation still works great--I might add some washers under the "holder" to boost its height a bit, but so far that hasn't been an issue. I am buying a second one to put on the other door to our screened in porch, on the outside also, and hope neither rusts.

It works, as described, but the pressure is not consistent. Strong when wide open, nil, when nearly closed, but too much momentum when going from wide open to closed. The door slams with a big bang.

This is an excellent addition to our stairs gate. The strength can be adjusted very accurately to your needs. And the look is very minimalistic: it blends in nicely.
