Purchased for son who is a huge One Piece fan and it lighting up was try e selling point. Received sword assembled and charged it, just for it to not even work. Very disappointing for myself and my son. Nothing more crushing than returning a product that a 9 year old really wanted.

I purchased a sword about six months ago and now I’m writing a review. The sword looks good and initially when you charged it and then you turned it on the sword lit up and it was nice and it was cool. Then 15 minutes of it being illuminated, it was dead And charge it for half hour and you can get 15 minutes worth of light. Now six months later, it will not charge at all and I have contacted the manufacturer with no response.

This 40-Inch Light Up Sword looks pretty cool and has a good amount of detail. The assembly could be a lot better since it’s a little tricky to securely attach the handle. It’s not very durable so you definitely have to be cautious with it but it looks great if it’s displayed as a decorative sword. The tap sensor for on/off operation is a bit sensitive and the battery life is mediocre but overall it’s a decent Light Up Sword.

I have a real katana that my 11-year old son is fascinated with. Ever since I got it, he's asked for one, but I'm not giving a real sword to an 11-year old. So when I saw this, I knew it would be a great gift for him. And it was--he loves it. Other than a video game I got him, this is his favorite gift of the year. He doesn't even care that the blade isn't sharp; he still feels like he has his own sword. Assembly was kind of tricky, and I had to force a couple pieces together with more effort than it felt like I should be using, but you'll know when it's put together correctly because the LED lights will come on. That's when a cool toy becomes an awesome toy. He's incredibly happy, which makes me happy. Very satisfied.

I am not will versed in costumes and cosplay, but the times I've tried having a metal sword in a costume was problematic; Security was always following me and everyone wanted to inspect it for proper peace knots. If I were to try again, this is exactly the kind of weapon I would use. Plastic but far from a nerf sword made for a child. Plenty is attention to detail.One pointer; read the directions fully before assembly. I missed the pieces pictured and I can't pull the blade back out again to place them. It still works but a bit loose.
