I read that spiders like red light, so I started using these bulbs and my 20 year old tarantula is so much more active. The bulbs seem to last a long time. I have mine on a timer for 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I am always pleased with Zoo Med.

I purchased this for my daughter’s gecko. I have purchased many times. They don’t seem to last very long. They are always going out. They hold their temperature. They give off the perfect amount of heat for the gecko. My only complaint is they don’t last too long..

Both bulbs arrived out of the box with something crusty on them. I don't know what exactly it could be. They work fine and my turtle enjoys the extra lighting but I am concerned that maybe they were used before by someone else or just older bulbs. Not sure how long they will last because of this.I also purchased the blue daytime lights from the same company and they did not have any crust on them. 4 stars for now but if any issues occur I will update my review.
