Replaced a manual shutoff button on an 80's era 5HP Mariner Outboard. I had to modify one connector end for a ring termination. Other than that my only other concern would be the threaded shank could have been a touch longer. 3 or 4 thread made it through the engine case, the nut threaded on but I would have preferred more thread for the nut. (That's what she said)As another review mentioned, when key is installed the switch circuit is open, when the lanyard is removed it closes the circuit.

A little misleading but I should have read the reviews more closely, the switch is "open" when the key is in place and your engine will not start. Once the key is in place the circuit is closed and the engine will run. This is not something you can simply splice into an ignition wire.
