Very portable and also will be using as an audio interface for my DAW. Using for sound in one band I am in and have been asked to do sound for another band. Pretty intuitive and learning curve has been lower than expected.

This is a fun little guy. I've gotten to use to record in a live setting as well as using it in the studio. The number of headphone mixes is great.You get a lot in a small package.

I have a tascam dp-24, which is a standalone, non-DAW machine. I have always liked recording into hardware. so there is that. this review is really for people like me, the non-DAW folks. for people using this to mix into a computer, it will sound great. you can record on it, and that sounds great. I have had behringer mixers for over 10 years now. got better ones through the years. had one that was called eurorack, that one was nice. the last one I had was the X2222 usb mixer. I like to run my equipment into the mixer, then into the tascam and record it, and that has mastering so you can "normalize" the volume, make everything louder, compression on the whole thing, and eq. the last thing I did on that felt like the best I could do with it, and I needed more. those behringer mixers have all been analog. this is digital. the sound quality of this is really good. the audio quality settings go up to 96hz, but you can't use the eq on that setting, or effects, so for people like me, it is useless. that said. the 48hz sounds great. then I use BALANCED xlr cables monitor out into my tascam, which is balanced xlr in, and the sound quality is just superb. this is the step up you will need if you don't do the DAW thing. and for a digital mixer, it is the entry price point, but quality wise it is excellent. the learning curve? there isn't one. there is one set of controls that you must select to use on which track you want to edit, which saves space. the effects sound great. real digital space to them. with headphones or good monitors, or even my so so ones, the quality of the effects really shine. no more cheap sounding stuff. the recording feature is easy to use. if you don't hit overdub and hit record, I thought you deleted your project, ouch! turns out it just makes a new project, so there will be moments of scrolling through to find the one you want cause you hit record without hitting overdub. fear not, it isn't deleted, just saved elsewhere. there is a 2 channel master track on here, can't really hear any difference in sound, so I'm assuming it is just a way to bounce everything down to a 2 channel file. this thing is great and will be a much welcome machine for many people. I see vids for place of worship folks, will be great there. the multiple outs will allow you to make different mix settings for different instruments, drummer gets more drums, singer gets more sings, guitar gets more, you know. I get my gear through american musical supply, so I buy on payments. no way I could afford the gear I have up till now without them. enjoy
