Instructions:
1. Select the appropriate needle based on the motor shaft diameter. Do not use a needle that is too small with a motor shaft that has a larger diameter, as this may cause the needle to break. If the gear has adhesive, it should be heated first to melt the adhesive before removing the gears. >
2. Choose the desired tooth puller needle and install it onto the tooth puller rotating rod. Tighten the screw (Note: for needles with a platform, the screw should not be tightened too much). >
3. Attach the tooth puller rotating rod to the tooth puller bracket. >
4. Install the tooth puller movable plate. >
5. Mount the motor onto the tooth puller movable plate, aligning the motor shaft with the tooth puller needle. >
6. Rotate the tooth puller rotating rod clockwise at a constant speed to pull out the motor gear. >
7. You can remove gears with a maximum outer diameter of 11mm and a tooth height of up to 12mm. >

I bought this, because Sam of Sam's Trains said he liked it. I had no use for it at the time, but have several gear pullers of all types, very large and small, and foresaw needing this one, now my smallest.I was right, and I had to take a gear off an HO train truck to get it out of the engine. It's a little different, but it worked. If it was made in the traditional way, it might not of fitted under the gear I had to pull. Worth the money I paid.

I wish I have read the previous review before ordering it. The metal bent at the slightest pressure and the gear didn’t even budge.

The steel is very soft, so the pin bent and the gear didn't budge. I was able to straighten the pin since it's soft steel. This tool is only useful for plastic gears.

I tried this as a simple way to remove a gear from a small electric motor. It immediately broke. The parts are too weak to handle any force. Complete waste of money.
