Runs small and the brim is floppy but for the price and what I am using it for, will try to make it work. Living in a warm area, mowing comes with a lot of bugs. This hat helps with those pesky bugs and the neck shade is nice as well. You do get hot easily while wearing it but for an hour or two once in a while I can deal with it.Update, after I washed it, it became way too small to wear it functionally to do any of my work outside.

This hat arrived all folded up, which I thought would be fine since it is meant for outdoor activities and surely would be packed up sometimes. I tried folding the brim the other way, adjusting over and over for about 20 minutes and finally got it somewhat wearable by putting it under a heavy cutting board for an hour. I got the medium, which is marked s/m and fits like a size small Franchise baseball cap but stretchier. The fabric on the front and back snaps on and off easily. The back flap was the only part I was interested in, to prevent sunburn on my neck, and unfortunately it has a (designed) split in the back so it doesn’t cover my neck as much as I’d like, even though it’s very long. Instead it drapes over my shoulders weirdly and unhelpfully. I might end up cutting it in half at the flap and just using one half to cover my neck.

Like most outdoor gear, there are trade offs. This hat set is no different.It fits a little small so I gave it to my wife, for whom it fits well. I would go up a size.It does the job for sun exposure, although I think the face plate is irritating and only useful for those with religious reasons or severe sun issues. The back/side flaps do the job. Honestly, in most cases you just need the hat because the brim covers a lot.The material is of very high quality and sewn together perfect. It is lightweight enough to stuff it somewhere, like a large pocket. The problem with this kind of material (nylon) is that it doesn't breathe at all. So there are vent panels, but they only offer so much. The good side is that it provides decent rain protection when you get caught in a sudden storm. I have a baseball cap with similar material and use it only when rain or sun are issues. Otherwise, there is nothing better than a breathable fabric like cotton.I like the unisex design if you choose a neutral color. If it fit me, I'd wear it and it would look good (tan). Looks good on my wife too.

The Zowya summer bucket hat is made of Supplex nylon. I never heard of that material before but reading about it on the website makes me think this may be a good material for a sunhat. I also looked at other sites and the material is touted as being soft, quick drying, providing UV protection, light, and resistant to shrinking, wrinkling, and fading. This sounds like a great material for a travel hat when going to tropical or warm climate. That is why I ordered it for my wife who burns easily. She is taking it with her when we visit South America later this year on vacation. It should well protect her shoulders and upper back, as well as her entire head area. She tried it on and felt it was soft and with the drawstring, readily adapted to her head size. She could set the draw string for size so that it fits tight enough where she feels is won't fly off in a strong wind. I've attached a few pictures of her trying it on. I suspect she'll use it when gardening even before we go on vacation.

Since I'm used to hats being 'one size fits all', I like that this hat comes with a choice of 2 sizes. I ordered the Small/Medium and it feels like a small on my head which is fine since I'm a small woman. There's an adjustable cord and unlike my other hats, the wearer can choose to take this cord off if desired. (I never do as it keeps my hat from possibly blowing off.) The side flaps cover my neck and can be removed if desired along with the mask. Despite these pieces being called wrinkle free, they actually came wrinkled. I waited about a week to see if the wrinkles disappear on their own after having the hat hung for a week. The wrinkles are still there. In wearing this hat, the biggest issue I see if that even in the winter, this hat with the neck flaps and mask is really hot to wear! I think these protective pieces could be useful in the rain especially a cold rain where the heat retention would be a plus. When I'm actually outdoors, I'm primarily interested in protection from the weather when needed and not the wrinkles. My rating is 4 stars. Even if I find the neck pieces and mask too hot to wear, they are an added benefit when needed and the pieces are easily to bring along.

I needed a replacement hat and was looking around for something. I saw this hat and it caught my eye. I needed something for hen I mow the grass. It does it rather dusty in some areas and the clippings get blown back into my face. Plus during the summer months, the sun is troublesome too. This hat provides excellent coverage and protection. It is very lightweight, foldable, and not bulky at all. Because of the material and the way it is constructed, I chose a medium size. My other hats are large but stretch out a bit over the years. I am hoping that will not be the case with this hat. It fits snug but it won't be blown off my head either. The front flap should help keep dust and grass from being blown in my face. The hat does have a wide brim that should protect my ears and neck from the sun. I like how the flaps are removable and you can just by itself.
