Carton is sturdy enough to provide some protection for the eggs, and not collapse. Plus, it being a different shape than commercial cartons keeps people at the farmer's market from asking stupid questions just because your hens lay white eggs... (Yes, I've had people assert that only brown eggs could possibly have come from backyard chickens and not a factory farm...)The flat top is less protective than a reinforced, shaped top would be, but that only matters if you're going to stack them more than six high. And the flat space makes it really easy to use self-adhesive labels on them.

I wish I could give it 0 stars: the first case I ordered came out good, not great but worked as a one time disposable egg carton. This new case has come out horrible, so difficult to separate from one another that I altogether gave up on them after less than 30 used/ripped while trying to separate them. Do not waste your money on these!

Be careful separating them, they tear easily, otherwise they serve their purpose.

These carton are mashed together and nearly impossible to separate. The cardboard is almost too thin to tolerate the force needed to pull them apart from each other. Very time consuming and frustrating!

These egg cartons are cute as can be, but VERY hard to separate from one another. You have to be very careful when you do it as they are very easy to rip.

It really shouldn’t be this hard to separate egg cartons. It takes a good hour to get at least 4 of them apart from the rest. And while doing so you break about 4 of them. So we have now wasted more egg cartons then actually using them. Loved the size and different shape, but not worth the waste!! Disappointed
