-----Update: Peas are not in this product anymore. Old reviews discourage this product bc of peas causing health problems. But keep in mind the peas have been removed. ------ I have two ferrets. My female is about 3 years old. My male about 2 years old. And I've done tried all brands of food.Seriously. I've always had issues with my female being a picky eater and keeping her weight at an appropriate level. She never got too thin, but always used to still remain below where she needed to be as far as weight. My male, of course, has always been a fat butterball regardless of food. But with my female and her weight issue I constantly was switching foods to try to find something that would do the trick. But nope. Nothing worked. But i finally tried this, and I don't know if it's zupreem themselves or the food being grain free (i havent tried non grain free zupreem)But my female since switching immediately gained weight and has maintained it ever since. they both seem to enjoy the taste of this better also. And they magically both have super fluffy soft fur now instead of the greasier feel to their coats. And it's odd, bc I've always had them on skin and coat and vitamin supplements as well...without really noticing any changes ...but this food has obviously done some wonders in their skin and coats. Also, my ferrets don't seem to naturally "stink" as much now either. I honestly feel switching to this has really made a big difference. It may cost a few bucks more than similar size bags of ferret food...but in my opinion it's worth it. And i also feel it's not as messy. It comes in small balls the size of bb gun balls. Instead of the longer kraft macaroni and cheese size noodle shape. And ive noticed my ferrets dont leave behind alot of crumbs like they used to...Def try this out ferret owners, it's worth it. Also...You can also buy Dr fosters and smith ferret food. Only sold on their site. But the price is great and also grain free and has some diff ingredients like lamb for example. But my ferrets also love this and works great just like zupreem. I buy the two and mix them for flavor variety. They are the only two I feed my ferrets. I really see no difference in either one. I would say they arw the best ferret foods around. Just stay away from wysong . no matter how to try to mix it with other food it gives them the squirts.

I tried this kibble after learning about the correlation between ferret diets and the hereditary diseases they get.I learned that Corn and Rice based kibble is very detrimental to a ferret's health, so I looked for a grain free alternative. This came up and at first the ingredients looked good. After several months my ferret developed severe topical allergies and come to find out that even though this food is "grain free" it is not starch free. The sweet potato is just as harmful to ferrets as it stimulates growth of cancerous cells and can develop food allergies. The peas also is harmful in that it has been connected to causing bladder stones in ferrets, which can become fatal if left untreated.I discovered aside from going to a completely raw diet, Wysong's Archtype I and II ferret kibble is the only choice to feed your ferrets.
