I've bought prior serrated tomato knives from Henckels and they were much better. This one has a thicker blade and doesn't cut as smoothly.

I bought a 20 piece knife set for my grand daughter a couple of years ago. Overall, the set is nice. The knives needed to be sharpened on arrival and she had to buy a new sharpener. Now, I guess, all the knives are fine--except--this serrated utility knife BROKE diagonally across the blade during ordinary use!!! So, anyway, I ordered this replacement, since, in my experience, this is one of the most used and useful utility knives. She received her replacement knife a week or so ago and, so far, so good. However, how can a knife of this quality break during normal use?
