Perfect size little compost bin for my kitchen. I appreciate the multiple attachment options but also the fact it can just sit on the counter. The handle is nice too

Our family of two has been using an under-the-sink compost bin that is substantially larger than this one (see comparison photo--the green bin is the old one). The first time we used the old bin, I waited until it was nearly full before dumping the bag into the curbside bin--only to have the bottom of the bag fall out and spill compost all over the floor! (It also gets pretty smelly if you wait too long, and attracts insects as well.) Since then, I've been careful to replace the bag when it's far from full--but that meant we were using a bin that took up a lot of space under the sink for nothing.This bin is right-sized for us. It comes with things that allow you to attach it to the side of a cabinet, or hang from a door; we haven't (so far) used that, we just let it sit on the shelf. I think not attaching it makes it easier to change the bags.Why a star off? It comes with a lot of bags--but it's not at all clear that these are compostable. There's a big difference between compostable bags and plastic bags (even so-called biodegradable plastic bags), and compostable bags are supposed to carry a symbol certifying their compostability. These bags have no symbol; they came with a piece of paper with Chinese writing on it, but I have no idea what it says. Nor does the seller's page here on Amazon say. Our city's composting program (rightly) forbids plastic in the compost, so I won't be using these bags for composting unless I find out they are not plastic. The bags are also much larger than they need to be, hanging all the way down the outside of the bin.

I started composting this year, and this is just I needed to keep in my kitchen so I do not need to go out daily to my composter. Item is compact and fits over lower kitchen cabinet and compact enough to not interfere with items in my cabinet. The size is perfect to hold small items up to a week before bringing out to composter. With the lid I have not experienced any odors and I love that the lid can hang on the side of the product and does not need to be placed on a counter. Highly recommend.

So I love the idea and I don’t hate it enough not to use but definitely could be better. This is very small can that I fill daily. It comes with a lot of trash bags which I love although they need to be gently handled because they are easy to rip open. They can is easy to clean and makes for a quick and easy deposit. It is not very sturdy however. I love that you can simply hang it on the drawer but it doesn’t sit tightly and is therefore very unstable and wobbly.

I love this. It's small but perfect so I empty it more and not leave it too long. The bags they sent with it were a nice surprise. They are too big for it but they work. Very simple to put together and fits perfect under my sink. The lid comes completely off, which when I just removed it to take the pics I realized it also keeps smell in it instead of leaking out..time to empty lol.I definitely recommend for small kitchen composting

This little bin is very handy to hang on a cupboard door or over the edge of a drawer. It's great for disposing of waste as you're doing meal prep, and helps to keep your counter clean as you work. I especially like it for food scraps that normally would be small and difficult to pick up and carry across the room to the large trash can - things like carrots peels and bad spots on potatoes. Those can go right in the bin right where you're working. And if you have something messy, you don't have to try to carry it across the floor without dripping. The bin also comes with 5 rolls of little trash bags, so you're good to go for a long while. They aren't the greatest quality bags, but work fine for small, lightweight trash.The bin could also be used as a compost bin, and if I ever get a garden in again, I will try that out.The bin does not fit snugly right up against the counter, and it could potentially get knocked off and cause a mess, as it does not fit tightly. But I keep it in an out of the way location when not actively using it, and so far it has not fallen or gotten knocked off. I'm finding it handy to have around.

I got the 3-gallon size about a month ago and loved it so much that I got this one for my wife to keep on the wall by her for trash, so the cats wouldn't get into it. When it arrived, I quickly saw my mistake when I saw the box and realized this is not the same size, it is about 1/3rd the size. That isn't a big deal if you don't mind changing it every day. We decided to make better use of it and use it as a holder for our plastic spoons and forks. We buy them in bulk and keep them on top of the cupboard, but my wife can't reach them, so this makes a great holder that I can refill for her. It is a nice container, but for $10 more, you can get a 3-gallon one that I think is better. This just seems a little too small to be useful for our needs. Another great use for this might be for 3D printer poop that can easily be dumped after a project.

This is a perfect compost container for composting food remnants for transport to our community garden compost bin. We keep it on the counter and it easily holds at least a week of food remnants for our weekly trip to our garden. We haven't been using the bags yet since we just wipe it out after dumping it. The lid closes securely. The white color fits in nicely with out kitchen decor while sitting on the kitchen counter. We did not bother hanging our up, but its nice that it comes with that option.
