I really like it. There's no odor and holds a lot of materials.

NYC has enacted a law that all citizens must compost. This bin works very well and is easily accommodated in an average-size apartment kitchen.

Package came undamaged but the bin does not have the handle on the lid which is a little frustrating. Looks like someone took it off? Otherwise it’s good.

This is a nice little compost tin, but it is not what I expected. The one thing that irritates me the most is the fact that I purchased this in hopes to keep the gnats out. However, gnats are a factor in composting even with this filter composter bin. Especially in the house.

Ever since I can remember, my Dad would compost. Growing up we had the space in the yard for him to set it up. But his solution indoors, was usually a plastic bag or plastic container. Neither solution was a great option. I've been wanting to compost and thought this would work better than what my Dad uses indoors. It has a simple, clean design that goes with any decor and it fits on the counter nicely; if anything, a smaller option would meet our needs better considering the volume we produce. With the lid closed, I was unable to detect any odors. Even though it has an extra coating to stop rust, I opted to add a liner. It wasn't clear if new filters need to be purchased or if the one provided could be rinsed out. Also, the wooden grip on the bin's handle does shift from side to side on mine, which sometimes makes it awkward when you're about to pick it up to carry it out. At this price point, it's a good value.

Composting is generally a good idea for countess reasons. The problem is finding a way to store the scraps of food without exposing the sight of the food, not to mention the smell. A small device like this Window Garden Kitchen Compost Bin will do the trick.Small in size, this compost bin is rectangular in shape and metal in construction. It isn’t very big- holds maybe one gallon- so if you prepare food very frequently, you can expect to empty it quite often. There is a charcoal filter under the lid, to control the smell.I have found that this small bin is just about right for my kitchen. We don’t prepare much food, so we don’t need anything large. It easily fits on the counter and since it is plain white with black wording, it doesn’t draw much attention. Well, except for the word Compost written on the front! If you don’t like the advertisement, there is a simple solution- just turn it around, with the plain side facing out.One thing to keep in mind with this compost bin is that it will require periodic cleaning, but you can minimize this if you use a small liner inside. Another thing I noticed is that the handles are flimsy. More than once, I have picked it up by the handles, only to have one of them pop out of place. Luckily, the lid was tightly sealed otherwise, I would have had a mess to clean up.It's good to compost. If your needs are small, this compost container from Window Garden Kitchen should suit your needs. It’s simple, but effective for those with a small amount of compost needs.
